They think it means that you'll always lose fiat in the long run gambling on shitcoins and bitcoin doesn't have that problem. They're cargo cultists, they genuinely believe bitcoin has some magical property that means it's fiat price will go up forever.

They will argue with you that all that stuff about decentralization, user sovereignty, that's all dead, institutions are the future, nobody cares about that stuff anyway, because they don't understand that all that stuff is the only sales pitch for this type of money, the only real source of value. Without it, this is exactly what Peter Schiff says, a worthless nothing, a speculative bubble, nothing more.

Plenty of people still know though. They've just learned how to keep their mouth shut. You don't see it in their words. You see it in the fact that they hide their financial moves. The absolute best way to do that is to funnel capital through monero as they rebalance their positions. So, you see it in the form of xmr fiat price increase towards the end of bull cycles.
