I opted-out of any news. It just got on my nerves and made me feel all kinds of (commonly) negative emotions about things that in reality do not even affect my life. I've not read any article or seen any news for over 2 years now and it has been quite liberating.

Once it clicked with me that news sources are just trying to sell me emotions for money i stopped. In the beginning it was actually hard, like i had some kind of addiction to it but that faded over a couple of months.

Do i miss anything? Maybe. But i don't think my brain was build for dealing with all the issues in the world. In fact I have no control over most of these things in my life anyway, so stopping to learn about them makes me better focused on things that i do have an affect on. If something is actually important i will pick up on it anyway due to it being shared by friends, family or people i follow here. Also if i ask most people will be enlightened to tell me about all the affairs in the world.
