GDP numbers and marketcap are kinda worthless to quage economic activity and growth. Debt, money printing and the financializatinon of the economy the last 25 years have hidden the economic decline of the west.
A better metric is the velocity of money and credit M2v. When you use this metric you clearly see the decline. Have we bottomed during the pandemic?
