the macro part, which the detail hunters never talk about, is the revealing of the corporate/political/intel agency/organized crime blob that we thought was a “mostly honest but sometimes corrupt” thing. in reality they will traffic children if it gets them what they want. that is the painful wakeup. and many people who want power and money will fall for it over and over again.
