Another x1.6. that's 4 in about 24 hours.

The sunspot producing these flares is massive and highly complex.

The CME component of these solar eruptions are asymmetric, meaning even if the sunspot is not directed at earth the plasma discharged could concentrate in any direction. The solar wind and partial forecast update later this morning could be interesting.
*gulp*

3 X class solar flares in ~12 hours

Good news: that sunspot is still turning in

Bad news: it's complex and will be directly facing earth in the next couple of days.

The X class that caused the polar conditions across the US over the past 2 weeks was X1.99.

This morning we had another X1something

The sun just released a 2.9 and an 8.1.

Expect more auroras.
