What concerns me is the amount of people that are able to run a node. That's what matters. This BIP increases compute costs for all nodes period. (Damaging to decentralization, higher requirements) Spammers can still circumvent it with either even more UTXOs (damaging to decentration, UTXO bloat) or collaboration with miners (damaging to miner decentralization)
You risk damaging Bitcoin because it makes you feel self righteous.
