For the normie, convenience will always trump intangibilities like money devaluation. We have to backdoor hard money to them via a superior UX. Back in the early days, we didn't have zelle or Venmo so for p2p cash Bitcoin was superior to ACH, wires and credit cards.
Its already a big ask to get people to buy another currency to use. If its slower and more difficult to use, and nobody accepts it, they're not going to bother at all. Adoption and medium of exchange are top priority.
