Preparing for Square Onslaught 👀

As is now widely known, Square will be enabling Bitcoin payments for their US merchants from November 10th!

We have been working hard behind the scenes on an integration that enables their merchants to be displayed on BTC Map and up-streamed to OpenStreetMap (after verification by our Shadowy Supertaggers!).

Square have circa. 4M merchants in the US alone and just a 0.5% uptake will more than double the number of places on BTC Map.

MoneyBadger Adds 650,000 Merchants 🤯

If you remember, we covered MoneyBadger enabling 31,000 merchants in last month's blog, but they've outdone themselves this month by adding 650,000 merchants in South Africa 🇿🇦 via their 'Scan to Pay' integration.

We're gonna need a bigger boat! 👀

New Features

• The Web App now shows deleted Merchant Pages (with warnings! 🧟) rather than harsh 404s. This helps with old links out in the wild and these pages are of course only navigable to directly.
