Well, it is. And it sure doesn't take much to get samples, since, as you know well enough it just takes a cell or two. Sure, it's a lot, but it isn't impossible.
Also, you don't need EVERYONE'S DNA, just family samples would be enough to get trends that you can feed into big data models.
Especially if they are looking for certain things. But that's a story for another day.
