Volume depends a lot on value, 1M coins exchanged at 16k and at 80k involves big difference in USD exchanged.
Also is difficult to make valuation on volume because you uave to check for different exchanges on different times, I believe binance was leading in volumes in 2017.
A nice metric to measure with last bottom for me is weekly RSI and the MVRV Ratio Z-Score:
