So... Our communist leader Dear Mark Carney has a "New World Order" with China. Canada doesn't want this but communists do what communists do. Oh, and he's going to allow Chinese spy machines (their EVs) into Canada. People complain that China will spy on them. Little do they know that Tesla is already spying on them, collecting massive data. Also, so did VW (they got busted years ago by white hat hackers who left the data unprotected) and Toyota.
Which is why I just shop old ICE (Internal Combustion Engines) cars. Google and our phones already have enough data (unless you've ditched Android and avoided carplay/Android auto). I said years ago, and Elon Musk has made it no secret, that the "future of personal transport" will be subscription based and you "will own nothing and be happy". You will subscribe to a tier of auto service and call up an autonomous rideshare service to pick you up and drop you off. I was against any trucks (commercial) that tested autonomous as it will destroy jobs. Tesla or Volvo (Volvo trucks is not Chinese owned unlike Volvo cars) could own the whole industry with on demand 24/7/365 Just in Time pickup and delivery. The supply chain industry, from design, development, manufacturing, and shipping isn't "like horse drawn carriages" (estimated 5% impact) but employs over 40%(!) of the world with caveats that "maintenance jobs" would offset (but those could be automated eventually as well).
So this rant isn't purely against China and Carney, (though, Fuck those elitist commie bastards!) But a warning of what's happening in Canada and what 2026 and forward is looking like.
What's the plan? There's really only one solution and thank God we're early. #optout
