The importations would likely continue, but it’s more likely that those states would fail first imo. Also, what amount of illegals would make residents that are currently alright with the situation change their mind?
Also see point #1 to deal with this continued threat. Would also probably need to strengthen state boarders if this happened. At the very least between red/blue states.
Vast majority of current gun ownership is red states/south too.
