Saying "Americans do not support it" is reflecting the influence media has on the minds of the average American, not what is good or bad for the country.
Tariffs are a necessary evil, and far, far preferable to a permanent trade imbalance, selling our country to our enemies in exchange for toilet paper and baby toys.
The social experiment has failed, immigration not only needs to cease, but reversed as much as possible. The globalist "free trade" experiment has failed. The failure of Hong Kong was the final death knell of globalism with our natural competitors.
