NEW: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warns the United Nations is nearing financial collapse.
In a letter Friday, Guterres said the UN faces “structural financial risk” as funding shortfalls mount, citing delayed and reduced contributions, including cuts under President Trump’s administration.
Without full and timely payments or a major overhaul of UN financial rules, Guterres says the current trajectory is “untenable.”
