But I like to have fun chat with them... I always see how long can I chat with them until they hang up.
I tried
- replying very slowly and repeatedly asking the same question
- replying as computer "Hello, I'm a personal assistant, how may I help you?"
One time the scammer was trying to get me to withdraw from coinbase (which I don't have), so I had to look up screenshots of the coinbase UI and then I was like "uh, ok, I'm in the withdraw dialog now, it's asking me for a code"...
Sometimes I try making a personal connection and get them to tell me which type of scam they are actually doing this time, like is it the remote desktop bank withdrawal (this one is fun, they use Chrome DevTools to modify your page), is it crypto wallet sending, is it hacked wallet download, etc.
I haven't done that yet, but next time I'll try making a connection and then making them feel bad about what they do. I'll see if that does anything.
