“The coaches expect me to carry the team and be the best player on the ice, like, all the time.”
Me: “Interesting. Do they have the same expectations for anyone else on the team?”
Him: “No… that’s the problem. The high expectations always come back to me.”
Me: “Would you rather be the one people rely on, or the one people don’t expect much from?”
Goalie: “…Huh. I never thought about it that way.”
Perspective is quite something.
