interestingly, the colors of the horses (this cartoon doesn't show) are:
white, red, black, and pale, pestilence/conquest, war, famine, death
this is a description of what the sun will look like when it has a micronova. note that this is pretty much spot on as far as current nova science says it is:
1. White — the initial brilliant white-light flare
2. Red — the hydrogen-alpha dominated plasma, heated chromosphere
3. Black — the opaque dust/ejecta phase blocking visible light
4. Pale — the dimmed, washed-out star as material disperses
