GrapheneOS is extremely hardened. Google could make special, cheap phones with Graphene for military / police, and just dump a few tiny millions into GrapheneOS development every year. Then they win by playing for both teams. And they would barely have to do anything at all to have a hardened version of AOSP. They just need to take the lead and stop letting retards drive their company into the ground. Who knows if that will ever happen, though.
