There's room for some nuance here.
I want AI and flexible access to resources. I want full control of my data.
Those things are in tension right now, but not inherently. Let's not be drawn into a false choice or abandon any value in the name of another.
We've been getting played that way for far too long. It's a subtle mix of frame control, false choice and anchoring. Curation is power and it's not accidental.
We can and should have it it both ways. But it's also reasonable to be practical about the current tradeoffs amongst the current tradeoffs they've presenting when we don't have leverage, while also not losing sight that we're getting levered.
