I think this reaction to the word "promotion" really highlights how little the movement is trying to help small businesses (the #1 stable, long-term jobs creator) when thinking about how to #growNostr.

Do people want to "discover great accounts" or find people worth building relationships with? Do people want to waste their time in one-way, consumption focused relationships with npubs who won't even know their name? I think celebrity accounts that only care about gaining attention, and the revenue that comes with it, are NGMI on Nostr. Or at least, not helped by psychotic king-making algorithms (primal).

I can only think of a few type of people who think along the lines of your note: politicians (sociopaths) and salespeople (scammers). Neither of which I want to make it easy to grow on Nostr.
