Got it, makes sense. Too bad it isn’t popular in restaurants. It makes it a bit out of my league then, unless I manage to steal enough crab apples from someone to prepare a jar. And since I don’t know how to tell them apart from other, potentially poisonous fruit, probably not a great idea 🤣. I think I’ve had redcurrant jam before, but don’t quote me on it. If it is what I think it is, it’s not too bad at all, a bit tart but sweet. I need to get more acquainted withocal fruit and berries.

Now that I think of it, I’ve never come across carambola (star fruit) in the UK. They’re “popular” in Brazil. Also cashew juice, or cashew fruit in general, other than the nuts. I think each country has its fair share of tart, potentially poisonous in high quantities, but delicious stuff :)
