That's why I just lost interest in it. You are right that it would be better to focus on something that could objectively improve our lives - like money and power. The problem is that so far I can't get motivated for that either. It may be a matter of personality. However, in my own personal case, I may have a "hack" that could approximate it - I might be able to sustain motivation for luxuries or comforts, or accomplishments in certain areas, which require money and could keep myself motivated that way. No idea if it will work but it is worth a try.
