On one hand, you want to make room so children can grow and explore, like gradually having them take more and more responsibility, with everything good and bad that comes with it, like having room to handle their morning routine on their own. On the other hand, they wreck the bathroom and sometimes even each other with fights over the sink (there are two of them and we only have a double sink).

So today, split between two choices I didn't want to make, I chose a third. Just went there and brushed my teeth in the upstairs bathroom with them. Not as oversight - I was just being there. And everything went smoothly. Just being there can be enough.
