To "educate" people we need to reach people in the first place. If our products suck and are unusable, we have zero chance of conveying our values.

Products need smooth onramps, we need to be patient with people, they all incorporate knowledge at their own pace and through their life experiences. Open protocols may sound easy to you, but it's a foreign concept to a lot of people.

If you are implying that Zapstore is similar to Google and Microsoft in this case, I think that makes no sense. It's a fully open source stack, built exclusively on open protocols, and working towards more optionality (for instance, automatic app catalog discovery).

There is a huge difference with Amethyst where the typical usage is *signed in*. In Zapstore it is *signed out*. That changes a whole set of assumptions.

For example: app stacks are unmoderated and look what new users are welcomed with now: a "Bullshit" stack that includes a bunch of religious apps. I think if you want to see what retards (or worse) publish you 100% should, but I'm not going to serve you that on a silver platter.
