i reject catholic doctrine as it has too much in common with paganism. the virgin birth, the death/resurrection, as the Venus Project people pointed out, it's the exact same story as dozens of different versions of the sun god. and the trinity - the trinity is clearly related to the ruling class of babylon, nimrod, samirimus, and marduk, or, i forget exactly the names but...
christmas is clearly the post-winter-solstice. easter is clearly the spring festival, the eggs, the death/rebirth motif again.
and i can't abide the inherent contradiction of identity between Jesus and the Father in trinity doctrine. Jesus being the literal son of a Father who was the King of the angels, or as the hebrew termed it "morning stars" who are the generals of his army. and look at Jude, who are these "wandering stars"?
making a judgement on the text without bringing it into context with the milieu it was first emerging seems foolish to me. as does trusting a text clearly physically written, and compiled, by roman aristocrats doesn't seem like a recipe for truth.
