I could read it two ways. 1. He's a funny dude and he was legitimately trying to protect his client.
2. He meant every word of it.
Lex's laugh afterwards (not shown in this clip) didn't give me a clear impression if he thought it was funny or was scared or both.
I don't like edited clips like this because I don't know what actually happened. I want to see everything in sequence.
