Hmm, for me it's even better in some ways than Google Maps. For example, it has way more parking spots and parking garages marked, and since it's based on OpenStreetMap, lots of users have added even more info there, down to details like where there are public cherry trees that you can just pick from. When it comes to extra info on places, I'd say it's even better equipped. And I don't exactly live in a small town.
Just the UX takes a little getting used to at first, but you figure it out.
