Attended a great talk yesterday at De Dépendance (npub1nvr…mpj2) hosted by Nuria Ribas Costa with [@Mer__edith](https://mastodon.world/@Mer__edith ) and Evelyn Austin (Bits of Freedom (npub1vuw…gshh)) about #Signal, AI and Europe's "Big Tech Initiatives" (amongst other things).

They had an interesting perspective on how Europe can catch up on the US with regards to Big Tech, "the cloud"¹, hyperscalers, etc.

Their perspective was: should we even want this? Should we want to copy the US's Big Tech template and perhaps end up like them?
