It's easier to keep leftovers when you don't feel guilty about throwing the food away. The reason I say that is because sometimes there are only two bites left of my steak. It's not enough for another meal later so I have to make a fresh steak anyway. Well why wouldn't I eat the fresh steak first? That's going to be the most enjoyable and nutritious food. Well now the leftovers are still there. And maybe I'll have leftovers from the new steak too. Eventually, I have to throw something away because it'll go bad. Something has to get thrown out. The transfer of energy, even in food, has some inefficiencies that inevitably lead to waste. So I'd rather not create that waste in my body. I know your response didn't warrant this level of detail but reasoning through it helps me to understand myself better haha
