I think yours is a Western-centric point of view. It may apply to the fake Western "liberal democracy".
Not to politics as a whole. History and geography tell a different story.
For istance: when examining the rest of the world, the so-called non-Western autocracies, the patrimonial regimes or the illiberal democracies of the Global South. In these contexts, true power is transparent, explicit, widely known and acknowledged by the public, under the sunlight rather than obscured by a mountain of theatrical lies and symbolic deception.
