damus android nodes have the ability to talk to each other damus android nodes without a relay via the local network (multicast).
you can test this today buy having multiple android nodes and/or notedeck desktop nodes without internet access. it will still work, you will see people posting on the wifi.
in not too long your damus nodes will even negentropy-sync with each other, so even if they are online at different times, you will be able to see notes you've missed.
once we add a DM notedeck app this will even be more powerful. local, encrypted DMs without even needing to go to the internet. note1kgv…rz0v
