Maybe a different point view:
- I just mute them, so no issues so far.
- For new users the spam could be bad, but if they have to pay could be also bad. They cannot just download and try to interact in the realm of nostr, because they need a way to get sats, so they can pay for posting.
But stackernews is a great example for this though, where you have to pay. And it works. But I think it is also more-or-less bitcoiners.
