And about near future…the argument is moot because time increases and eventually all transactions will be valid in the near future.
And about underfunded fees…that too is moot as additional out of band payment is made at time of transaction submission.
That said, while there is an obvious analogy to op return filtering, I don’t think this issue is currently even close to being of economic concern and might never be.
