The primary reason why AI adoption will lag is all financial. In order to be able to pay the fees necessary to execute the modern AI models one of two things must be true. Either the model use must be subsidized by a third party that is hemorrhaging money, or the cost must be paid for by you. If you need to pay a cost to use an AI model then what work product are you going to produce in order to raise the capital to use the model? You can't be automating your work to produce capital because that's a catch-22.
