I’ve asked many shops to turn on bitcoin payments. Only 1 has.
Since then, I’ve moved all of my meetings and our Bible study group to the one coffee shop that turned on bitcoin payments for me.

I was disappointed at the response last night for sure. She has outsourced her bitcoin stance to the federal government; the exact problem that Bitcoin is trying to solve.
If the states understood these, each state could protect themselves and their citizens from the debt spiral.

I spoke with the (likely) next governor of South Carolina last night.
I asked her if she had anyone on her team looking into our state buying Bitcoin.
She gave me a political answer about how she had someone looking into it on a federal level.
I explained to her that the federal government can print money out of thin air but the states cannot and that inflation was caused by this government spending and as a result was hurting the citizens of our state. I told her that SC needs to be buying gold, silver, and bitcoin to protect us from the debt spiral caused by the federal government.
She had no idea what I was talking about.

An individual who lives below their means and saves the rest for the future will always be wealthier than people who spend everything they make.

No we do have a lot of purchasing power because we work hard, make money, live below our means, and save in bitcoin.
If you did that in fiat you would also rich. But you are not incentivized to do that because of inflation.

I haven’t heard a lot of people talk about the fact that even if bitcoin drops to our cost basis, we’ll still be some of the richest people around.
Why?
We have conviction. We go all in. We build businesses to buy more bitcoin. We don’t buy things we don’t need. We save. And when Bitcoin drops, we work even harder.
And when you’ve done all of that, you don’t even need Bitcoin to go up. You’re set for life.
And when Bitcoin inevitably pops off again, it’s just gasoline on the fire.

All content on all socials will eventually be AI generated. Add in the algorithms, and the entire thing will be overrun by AI.
People will search for an alternative with signal. Nostr will have to fight those issues too, but it will be the last one standing.
It’s like an island of social media. Nostr is the highest point on the island and the whole thing is sinking into the AI sea.
Nostr will get a lot of people looking for alternatives. The question is, how do we preserve nostr as well from the sea of AI agents?

I sat with a guy about a year ago who wanted to buy and self custody. Older guy.
After a few hours of him not being able to figure out how to login to his own bank account and calling his IT guy for the password I looked him dead in the eye and said “I’ve never told anyone this ever and it goes against everything I believe but please, please buy the ETF.”

I also wonder if this whole debate has been a factor for whales selling.
If I was sitting in 100 bil of bitcoin (not saying that I’m not) and I saw all of the infighting and debating going on I would definitely be more inclined to sell.
I believe it has been a non factor in traditional markets, but the whale selling could he caused by this uncertainty.
And IMO it is disingenuous to act like Core didn’t do anything wrong. The way this was handled has been a disaster and was totally unnecessary.
And I don’t agree with the reaction to it either. But it all started with core doing something unnecessary.
Any and every change to Bitcoin should be viewed as an attack on Bitcoin.

I'm all in and have been for a while. However, if I was not in bitcoin and I was watching thousand year old assets outperform, I would have a hard time justifying the risk/reward of Bitcoin over those metals.
Not the case for me personally, but definitely a hard sell to buy bitcoin when it is so new and has perceived risks that don't exist for gold or silver.
IMO, the scarcity, self-custody, and usability of Bitcoin will cause it to outperform drastically long-term. I do believe gold and silver are running and Bitcoin will follow. And when it does, watch out.
