i don't like RPG level systems
it really ruins the immersion for me that for example, the "level two" human player can shoot a "level thirty" human NPC in the face with a gun and they won't die
that's not how guns or humans work, if i wanted to grind levels i would go play a NGU game

i really hope that in 100 years, it will be just as common and just as serious to say "i believe in Free+Decentralized Software" as it is now to say "i believe in free speech"
people are starting to understand, but only partly or for the wrong reasons (privacy, microslop, cost, etc)
those are fine reasons, but the reason to support FOSS is above all that proprietary code means you are never free.
privacy focused users might use the proprietary FUTO keyboard or the centralized Signal messenger - and remain unfree
people who can't afford to upgrade their hardware to use the latest windows might switch to linux, but they will continue to use other proprietary/centralized software - and remain unfree
some will even use a majority of Free+Decentralized Software but use proprietary and centralized software like Discord, Twitter(X), Facebook, etc "because that's where the majority of people/my family/friends are" - and EVERYONE remains unfree, as a direct result of their contribution to the network effect

are you committed to decentralization?
for me, that means both being open to new freedom tech AND remaining ready to use existing ones
i keep almost every decentralized/FOSS messaging app or my accounts on social medias
if anyone ever says to me "do you use _?"
i should always be able to say "yes"
i won't contribute to the network effect of proprietary/centralized messengers like WhatsApp, Signal, Discord, or whichever other popular communication apps are in use
i won't seek fame on the big social medias with millions of users
and i WILL remain here on mastodon (or lemmy, or nostr, etc) 🫂
and i WILL be able to be reached on matrix (or XMPP, deltachat, etc) 💬

that mostly depends on region and what election
as an example, is the U.S. the presidential election is flawed because of the electoral college and the two party system/first past the post voting
but a more local election can often be more democratic such as voting for a sheriff or aldermin
some "elections" are almost completely predetermined and undemocratic, such as the lord mayor of london
