Although not as good as @npub1exv…d828 but it has a crucial feature - it's accessible for progressive web apps. One HTML file served and you can use decentralized infrastructure.
Because it's very possible that non compliant apps will be kicked out of the stores. And that unfortunately means zero network effect. Alt stores or apks are just not used enough to matter for chat apps.

Yes, this is important. But I think to bring it back, FED has still a tremendous influence over the eurodollar system in setting the interest rates. It's been even saving the eurodollar system recently by providing swap lines. So it's definitely not disconnected, although the impact is huge.
For those who don't understand what an eurodollar is, a good example is DAI (collateralized stablecoin). It's created as a dollar denominated loan, which makes it an eurodollar on different payment rails. A decentralized software creating dollars of chain.
But the thing is - the interest rates have to mirror Fed's to some extent. The difference in rates is just a reflection of friction to arbitrage.

When I was starting on the internet in the late 1990s, some people were considered internet-enabled and some were deemed "will never be able to use e-mail, it's too complicated".
I know a person with super low intelligence, matching clinical definition of mental retardation. She works as an office assistant. The main part of her job is handling e-mail.
If people can talk, they will have an earpiece and the machine will tell them what to do. And if they watch them over camera, they can correct them: "No, that brick you just put in is not straight, fix it".

I don't think this is a question anymore. Smart people are becoming 10x smarter. It's not either or situation, this will happen all at the same time. Some people will stay dumb or even become dumber (we see this as an effect of socialism already for decades).
The question is how many less intelligent people will make use of this opportunity.

My unverified opinion: LLMs are generally more intelligent than at least 80% of humans. Humbling.
But also very positive. Because it means that for the first time in history, they have a tool to supplement their thinking.
Physically weaker humans got guns, tractors and plows.
All these people - billions - got a positive upgrade. They just need to make use of it.
Intelligence is not widely distributed, but it can be. And will be.

I took a tram and was connecting to my MeshCore node and found a MeshTastic node in the bluetooth scan. I did not see who had it, but this is what keeps happening. You never know who you meet. Probably no one, but if you do, you will remember it forever.

I think the grand unifying theory of everything is computation theory based. Of course I'm guilty of bias, because that's what I understand most.
From Wolfram's physics project, to understanding markets (and especially impossibility of effective central planning due to Wolfram's principle of computational irreducibility), to mind and consciousness, ...
I'm not saying current computational theory explains everything, rather that in order to explain everything explainable (and especially in finding limits of what is and is not explainable), it will all have strong computational theory basis. We know a lot of computation. And computation is about the dynamics of systems. It's a theory of change and what change is possible. And how fast.
If you want to understand the world on a deep level, study informatics and computation. In addition to your field. But study it deeply. You're not aiming for knowing what it is about but in the details, because they matter.

"There's a gap until I reach total mastery in hacking. But also, hacking is a state of mind. It's bigger than any single discipline. Lisa nodded. The synthesizer arpeggios from a nearby tent had resolved into a sustained chord, a pad that hung in the air like mist. "So what sort of things do you think need to be built?" He made air quotes around the next words. "For 'cyberspace.' I don't like the term either". The walking helped. Ideas moved differently when the body was in motion, looser, less rehearsed. "Well, first we need to encrypt the internet. The whole thing. He was quiet for a few steps. In any other context, what she'd just said might have sounded like the preamble to a conspiracy theory. "A bit." She nodded. "But it's not as interesting as people think. The bureaucracies are like machines. Dumb machines, but enormous, and they thrive on data. People fear what would happen if machines take over, but they don't understand they took over a long time ago." She stepped over a painted line on the tarmac, some remnant of the airfield's former life, guiding aircraft that no longer existed to gates that had been dismantled. "A computer used to be a person. Someone doing calculations on paper. And those calculations are the machines. The algorithm written in royal decrees, in laws and regulations. It happened decades ago, centuries ago, probably. Perhaps when they first started enforcing the use of surnames, so their tax agents could track who owed them what. They've just upgraded from paper to silicon. I've seen the probes. An old version of them."
She surprised herself with the openness. She couldn't really talk to anyone about this. Kevin, yes. And maybe James, although they hadn't really talked, they'd only shared the same knowledge, passed in silence, if he'd understood the USB key she gave him. The thought touched something in her chest and moved on, like a bird landing on a wire and taking off again.
She felt the gravity constant decrease. As if she weighed half her weight and her body wanted to float, to lift off the tarmac the way Orville the cat-drone had lifted off that morning, ungraceful but triumphant, rising on borrowed physics.
"Showers." He pointed to the portable shower pavilion ahead. There was no queue at this hour. Light steam rose from the drainage channels, and Lisa figured there was even some warm water left, a small miracle of diesel and plumbing.
"Meet you here in a bit," he said, and turned left toward the men's side.
Lisa did not know why he'd insisted on the shower. But when the water hit her shoulders and ran down her spine, she understood it in her body before her mind caught up. The heat dissolved something. The spray carried a weight she hadn't realized she was holding, not away exactly, but through, streaming off her skin and spiraling into the drain, joining the runoff of five thousand other people who had come to this field. She felt lighter with each second. Unburdened.
She turned off the tap. The silence was sudden, but in it she could hear the camp breathing around her, generators and music and voices and footsteps, all part of a single organism, temporary and alive. T.A.Z.
She was going to do something very different from now on. Maybe she’ll help build the new space for the mind.

If you are stressed about the bear market, you would benefit from the stimulation of the vagus nerve. I like Venice's model with DIEM tokens. Refreshing daily credit as long as you hold the token (1 DIEM = 1$ of inference per day). I like that I can run all these models without additional cost. It's basically upfront capital investment.

Tasks:
1. reverse engineering of non open source chrome extension doing advanced zero knowledge math (PeerAuth)
2. understanding and auditing solidity smart contracts and attestations (related to PeerAuth)
Kimi-cli with Kimi 2.5 surprised me, it even found something that no other model noticed.
Note - this is not coding, it wrote a paper, based on how it understood and reverse engineered code.

New project!
Are the e-shops you are trying to pay suddenly trying to KYC you for buying alpaca socks with Bitcoin? Yes, that's the new regulation. They should of course go self-custodial, run @nprofile…xhfg and none of this applies (it only applies to to payment gateways who are providing gateway services for third parties).
But running BtcpayServer is not always easy, especially if you are just starting to accept Bitcoin. VPS, docker, running your nodes (although it's possible without). And maybe you don't have people who would run it for you.
But since we have @nprofile…puz0 now, we can do something magical - use Cashu mints' lightning capability to accept Bitcoin, anonymously. And run the payment gateway the same way we run the e-shop - on a $3/month PHP hosting.
Enter CashuPayServer - a simplified Lightning gateway, compatible with BTCPayServer Greenfield API (so yes, your WooCommerce, etc. is supported out of the box), by basically unpacking a .zip in your webhost and going through a simple wizard.
And if you run Wordpress, it's even easier, because CashuPayServer installs as a plug-in (and if you have BTCPay plug-in as well, it autoconfigures it for you).
You can withdraw your Cashu tokens to a lightning address, BOLT-11 invoice, as cashu tokens. You can enable autowithdrawal.
Free and open-source. Self-custody possible, if you run your own mint. Autowithdraw lowers the custody risk.
Warning, version 0.1-alpha that is out is very alpha, no one besides me in localhost has tested it.

Yes, I know many people think that PHP sucks. But it's literally unzip and run on the hosting you already have.
For anything more sophisticated, run BTCPayServer, it is much better and battle-tested (I run it myself). I created this as a fun project to help small businesses accept Bitcoin without the complexity of running infrastructure.
There are a few things this can do out of the box though (even less tested). Some mints can mint you euro and usd tokens. If you are not ready for Bitcoin volatility, and you want certainty of value evaporation of fiat, it is possible. You get the customers that want to pay with Lightning, but get euros or usd. I don't recommend doing that, but it's an option.
Again - ⚠️ #reckless. Not battle-tested. Feedback and pull requests wanted. I will probably not add many more features. For features, go to btcpay.

Gemini and Claude are much better. Gemini for voice and images and general research, Claude as an "AGI" - great at coding but pretty much anything.

The only quirk is face id - which I don't use (and I think you can't) but some apps see it's there and won't want to use anything else.
And app attestation is becoming a problem.

Core dev of MeshCore is working on a Bitchat repeater that is pure bt, but it needs some more love. Better gain bt dongle and antenna should do at least 500m, maybe 1km radius purely on Bluetooth.
MeshCore has huge range, we've done 400km with just a handful of repeaters.

First of all, although I like @nprofile…nj96 a lot, I'm a fanboy of @nprofile…rzrk who I consider a spiritual leader of the cypherpunk movement. He teaches in code.
Second, about the range, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about:).
And we're building it for the people shown on the picture below. How many of them have a battery powered Lora device in their pocket? Hopefully at least one. How many of them have a phone with Bluetooth? 100%.
So take your head out of your ass, we're not building for your apartment to chat with your friends, there's a whole world out there that needs this yesterday. To know where the cops shooting to civilians are, if the communications work, if the flights after flying, which grocery store has food.

What surprised me in Thailand: roads being repaired 24/7. Like, at 4 AM with massive spotlights, crews are hustling.
When you've got expensive machinery, you can find people because they are relatively cheap. But someone has to find workers. Leaving an excavator or mixer parked is just irresponsible use of capital goods.
And when robots take over, maybe we will finally have decent roads. Remember, built by humans, robots and companies. Not states.

The only problem is Claude code is next level. Both the model and the tooling. If I paid per tokens with Opus 4.5 (I tried), I'd burn a hundred dollars per day. Using inferior model or tooling is a waste of my time, it is really that much better.
So I've gotta play by their rules. I'm not even on their highest program yet.

I tried to build the network without success, too few people too far away. And then some people built basically a country-wide MeshCore network. Network effects beat beauty of technology all the time. I need to work with something that people actually use.
