If you think about it, hackers are QA engineers who do their job extremely well. They know the underlying systems and protocols to the tiniest of details. Then they work on edge cases where they inevitably find bugs (anomalies) that can be exploited.

One of the features that I didn't know I needed on my phone was turning off wifi after X minutes of not being connected. It prevents your phone from searching for networks and leaving the footprint wherever you go.
I think I've read about it in one of @nprofile…pag8 guides (or maybe it was Extreme Privacy by Michael Bazzell). Nvm.
To the best of my knowledge, available on #grapheneos only.

Well, that depends on whether you want to host it, or let someone else do it for you.
People already suggested Tuta and Proton. Both are hosted and supposedly encrypted. The UX varies, and is a matter of personal taste.
You could spin up a very light version of Nextcloud in order to use their calendar. You can then sync that calendar wherever you want (any app that supports caldav).
Middle ground - find a hosted solution that supports caldav and then sync thr calendar to any app of your choice.
Why do I insist on caldav?
Because you don't want a vendor lock in. You should be able to choose the app and not depend on whatever they ship.
So, which path would you like to take?

Let's take Bitwarden latest release for example. This is a sha for the apk from their GitHub repo (copy/paste)
sha256:fc8c8124650665270925648e0ec35bf7336f26058e3bd72eabf41d859727d220
You will see this same sha displayed in zapstore. Makes no huge difference who signs the release if keys match.

I was able to set up a new GrapheneOS for a family member without ever touching droidify or obtanium.
First step, download @nprofile…7acz APK directly from their github repo (use Vanadium for this).
Once zapstore is installed you literally never ever have the need for Obtanium again.

What you described is actually the opposite of what I originally had in mind but your use case makes much more sense. I'll adopt it.
Rather than trying to keep your "main" feed pruned and curated, it's easier to not worry about it. Just follow any profile you want, but keep the curated feeds in those follow lists.

It's not so much about the protocol as much as it is about the ecosystem being in infancy. I get where you're coming from but, if you think about it, this is exactly what is beautiful about Nostr. We're early. People are building, exploring, trying things out.
Most of it is fully open-source so you can contribute and change things that don't quite work for you. That helps the community.
Or you can even build a custom solution that perfectly fits your exact needs and wants :)
