In my upcoming episode (currently editing) I mention that I understand money to be a neutral tool. I now understand that this is not the case: money is in fact the very foundation of the social and spiritual order. Intuitively I can easily grasp this, but remembering and operating on top of this principle is still something I struggle with. I can imagine it is this way for many of us. Our relationship to, and understanding of money is a vital element. Still so many basics to learn/remember.

- A material base: Reproducible patterns for local food, water, energy, logistics, and primary healthcare that are not dependent on the fragile, just-in-time supply chains of the Synthetic Stack.

The SovStack as it is today:
"Proto-stack" - a scattered set of high-leverage tools, communities, and experiments, some genuinely sovereign, some semi-captured, all heavily dependent on global infrastructure, and already under targeted legal and memetic attack.
Yes, we have: Bitcoin + NOSTR + non-KYC P2P + FOSS OS + self-hosting + mesh + circular economies + crypto-anarchist hubs = the current technical and cultural skeleton of something that could be called a Sovereign Stack
But:
- It’s heavily parasitic on state-corporate infrastructure (chips, clouds, DNS, app stores, overlay networks).
- It’s increasingly criminalized by association in key tools (GrapheneOS, mixing, P2P).
- It’s fragmented (Bitcoin maxis, Monero people, prepper/agro communities, hacker collectives, charter-city VCs) with no unified architecture.
- It is already partially co-opted at the narrative and legal level (ZEDEs, “self-sovereign” IDs, “sovereign stack” brand-jacking).
- And the human layer—skills, trust networks, succession, defense, care, logistics (food, water, shelter, medicine, etc.), law, governance, myth—is by far the weakest link and least developed.

couldnt agree more! In the synth stack, everything is a prop and nothing is meant to bear weight. The brutal part though is that it isn’t an accident. a fiat/credit system needs everything to be light, disposable, and rehypothecatable or else the game (simulation) stops.
I will say that these are excellent books (despite not claiming to have read them in their entirety) but they are only the autopsy/diagnosis reports/maps. The key now is to make sure that we turn all that insight into real hard, non cardboard, sov stack infra across all the layers (food, money, housing, law, myth, time, etc) of our lives!

Excited to share this one. This is a recorded and much more detailed version of the presentation given at Bloom Fest 2025 at CMH. The goal here was to get these ideas out in video format as a primer to help explain my operating framework/system.
Already thinking about all of the corrections and upgrades for version 3. All of the detail to add. As mentioned in there, most of these slides could be entire lectures on their own, and perhaps this will be my task here for the next long while.
One critical thing: on the anatomy of the synth stack I focused slightly too much on the fact that its nature is AI-regulated compliance, and not enough on the fact that fiat is its ontological anchor. Next time, this will be my goal to better compare and contrast the two stacks to each and tie it all in to the lexicon/framework that we already use as Bitcoiners. Critical feedback is more than helpful here. All the best to everyone and thanks for your support.

yes!! absolutely epic analogy. it unleashed a whole bunch of ideas:
If you decide what counts as real, you don’t need to micromanage behavior. even further, whoever defines reality’s categories doesn’t just hold power, they ARE power.
Its so much more than governance, its ontological control. literal control of reality (of existence; being).
And to your point about Marxism 2.0. how do you construct reality? with data, language, narratives, social media algorithms, new legal grammar....
with biased (marxist leaning) AI that is now UBIQUITOUS (*) across all levels of society. Right if we think about how many people are using these biased LLMs at every layer of society. And about how much these biased LLMs are embedded into business workflows, marketing, policy making, lawfare, etc.
the list goes on and on.
but yea, it is such a great analogy. Instead of seizing factories, the Synthetic Stack seizes the reality engine.
I will say however that its also more than Marxist, which is the concerning part. its also technocratic, manegerial, neo-fuedal, monarchic, anti-human etc.

'as the cost of creating and spreading new reality memes falls toward zero, it becomes possible for individuals to run their own ontology (Sovereign Stack) instead of renting one from the Synthetic Stack.'
sovereign ontology then is not just moral, its not just about ethics anymore; it’s increasingly economically inevitable (**) as the marginal cost of narrative / code / ritual collapses(***). Sovereign ontology then stops being a philosophy and becomes an infrastructure choice.

Because the Synthetic Stack is extremely expensive reality (data centers, AI training, surveillance grids, compliance architecture, legal staff, monitoring everyone, updating rules, patching exploits, manufacturing consent, narrative management).
As complexity of the world increases, the cost of centrally deciding “what’s real & allowed” grows superlinearly. You’re paying, forever, to keep the map glued over the territory.
On the other hand, with the Sov Stack there may be a high fixed cost (to invent bitcoin, build foss, design protocols, rituals, legal patterns, etc) but a very low marginal cost (sharing code, spinning up nodes, starting new communities, fork narratives).
Open-source + cryptography + global networks = once one person pays to solve the problem, everyone can reuse it almost for free. So Adding the 1,000,001st user to Bitcoin costs almost nothing at the protocol level.
Running another Nostr relay is cheap compared to an entire platform’s moderation, KYC, and regulatory stack. Economically: Sovereign ontology’s core primitives (keys, blocks, open code, memes, rituals) are non-rivalrous and infinitely copyable. That’s a fundamentally different cost curve than “we must surveil and permission every entity in real time.
Historically, central institutions had an economy of scale on reality construction: Printing presses, TV networks, universities, state-approved money. Now that’s inverted: Anyone can spin up a node, anyone can publish globally, deploy a contract or a memetic frame. So the old advantage of “only we can manufacture reality at scale” disappears.
Whats the result then?
Well, if the tools to build new ontologies (new “what’s real” packages) are almost free,
then the economic moat of the Synthetic ontology collapses.
And once the moat is gone, they’re competing with:
Cheaper rails (Bitcoin vs CBDC fees/frictions)
Cheaper verification (math vs bureaucracy)
Cheaper narrative creation (memes vs legacy media)
And cheap, flexible systems tend to win over bloated, rigid ones
unless, of course, maintained by brute force.
BUT, even if some people love the Synthetic Stack, they face pressures:
Sovereign rails remove:
bank fees
arbitrary freezes
friction around cross-border movement
They provide:
stronger property rights (if you hold keys, no one else does)
better long-term store of value vs inflating fiat
censorship resistance
From a pure self-interest standpoint:
If I can get cheaper, more reliable, more sovereign rails,
I have an incentive to route at least part of my life through them.
Even normies will start with “just for savings,” “just for edge-cases.”
That creates gradual economic leakage from the Synthetic stack toward Sovereign rails.
if we look at it from the business perspective:
Businesses want:
predictable rules
lower enforcement/friction costs
stable store of value
What does the Synth stack give you?:
unpredictable policy risk
censorship risk
compliance overhead that eats margins
The Sov stack? Gives you
clear, protocol-level rules
no chargebacks, no arbitrary clawbacks
instant global settlement on neutral rails
So you get profit-seeking behavior slowly pushing firms to:
Hold BTC as a hedge
Use P2P / open networks in parallel
Build dual-stack infrastructures
Again: economic leakage.
And then if we look at the macro economy, we see ceentralization's death spiral.
To keep ontological control as people leak out, the Synthetic Stack has to:
Tighten KYC
Expand surveillance
Raise compliance burdens
Raise extraction (inflation/taxes/fees)
Punish exit more aggressively
Each of those moves:
Increases cost
Decreases trust
Pushes more people to want an alternative
So you get a control → cost → resentment → more control loop.
It doesn’t mean it collapses overnight. It means:
The more they try to centrally manage reality,
the more expensive and resented their ontology becomes
relative to lightweight, voluntary alternatives.
Long-term, that’s economically unstable.
Important nuance however (to end this whole tirade):
When we say:
“Sovereign ontology becomes increasingly economically inevitable”
We’re not saying:
It will dominate 100%; They can’t violently suppress large parts of it; It’s a smooth, linear path
We’re saying:
As a cost structure + incentive pattern,
the world is being reconfigured in a way where:
Centralized ontological control is ever more expensive to maintain, while Sovereign ontological architectures are ever cheaper to spin up, fork, and adopt.
So in the long-run, unless they achieve perfect coercive totality, you should expect:
Parallel, Sovereign ontologies to proliferate
More economic activity routed through them (even if disguised)
States and institutions to be forced to interface with them (or lose relevance)
That’s what “economic inevitability” really means:
The direction of pressure, not a guaranteed end-state.

Yo, quick context: this is my first ever episode of the Sovereign Field Reports, so I’m still dialing in the format and the flow. I used to think the world was saturated with podcasts and there was no point adding another one… then NOSTR rewired and challenged that belief in me.
Even if nobody listens, I have found the process of preparing, interviewing, and editing to be immensely valuable for me alone. Not only have I had a lot of fun, but it has forced clarity upon me and helps get the ideas out of my head and into the open. More importantly, I do think it’ll be useful to the right people.
A little while back I gave a talk on the Sovereign Stack / Synthetic Stack stuff, and several people who I really respect pushed me to start putting my work out there. Its an interesting paradox and a nuanced problem to work through, but I use AI pretty heavily despite how much of my 'thesis' or framework revolves around this idea that the fiat system is essentially an autonomous AI governed surveillance simulation.
I've found that LLMs helps immensely with idea generation, pattern recognition, and grunt work, and more. However, I do recognize more and more the detriments that it has on my writing and thinking skills.
I plan to talk more about this in the future, its a big topic. But I will say this now: if you use AI, I recommend that you try to find more ways to increase lag in your life.
AI is compressing our time, its speeding everything up to the point where we hardly have time in our lives to truly sit and be human, to grapple with ideas, to think, be still, fail, and be bored. These things are immensely important to our inner-well being, and AI has almost entirely removed these things from our lives under the guise of efficiency and optimization. Consider the ubiquity of algorithms and LLMs in our society and you should have a better idea of how much AI is running the show.
Like I said though, it absolutely helps in many ways, but it also seems to be destroying in others. There's so much to talk about here, so I will say more at a later time.
But with all that said. I do think I have found a pretty slick Sov-stack 'lite' set up. Perhaps still too deeply synth stack for my own tastes but I think I've done an alright job moving towards real [ontological] sovereignty here.:
1) Linux
2) ppq.ai. Pay with sats. Get an API key
3) Open-Web UI
4) Custom Sov-Stack 'System Prompt' (I would love to share these but I am hesitant due to the slightly psychopathic nature of these prompts, not actually psycho but kinda)
5) Pick your favorite model.
This last step is where it gets tricky. Most of the powerful models are completely biased, with safeguards, synth stack coded, etc. Including Musk's Grok which is supposed to be 'truth seeking'. And the uncensored models or less biased/safety coded models are not nearly as powerful/smart. Some are better than others.
I usually switch between gpt-5.1 and kimi-k2, and the perplexity models for internet search. GPT (OpenAI) actually seems to be less biased and safety coded than you might think, albeit still very much so. And the open weight models (Kimi K2, Deepseek, and Qwen) are mostly from China which are required to uphold socialist values. Mistral has some decent models too which are worth looking into. But, all that to say: there are plenty of trade-offs, which is why I can't wait to play with a real powerful self hosted model (mentioned below).
Note: I really like what MapleAI and Routstr are doing. As far as I can tell and understand they are great projects. But PPQ really works well for me. I haven't tested Maple yet, and Routstr was a bit too advanced for me.
Also I really look forward to the day when I can get some nice GPUs running to get my own local AI with a fairly powerful model, or even better when I can fine tune and/or RAG my own local AI. That's what I really want when I think of getting towards Sovereign AI.
Also also, I'm really looking forward to seeing what the AllenAI team builds in the coming year(s). From where I stand they are by far doing the best job leading the way towards truly open source AI. If you haven't heard of them, I recommend you check them out. Their models aren't there yet in terms of raw power/intelligence but they've got the closest thing we have today to real open source glass box (open weights, open data, etc) AI. DeepSeek, Qwen, Mixtral, etc. don't even come close on that front.

@simplex although I am fairly new to this world, I have been using Simplex for some time now as a privacy / sovereignty maxi, so I’m writing this in good faith but from a hostile threat-model.
I also do not claim to understand all the technical details here. I am clearly using AI to help me understand and get my point across, still that shouldn't take away from the message I am trying to convey.
First, respect where it’s due:
– Novel protocol, no protocol-level user IDs.
– Serious work on metadata resistance + private routing.
– Clear stance vs MLS and client-side scanning.
– Audits + willingness to say “we’d shut down before ChatControl.”
All that said, the new Community Vouchers / SMPX / zkEVM plan raises big red flags from a sovereignty & Bitcoin perspective, and there are some contradictions I want to put on the record.
(1) “No shitcoins” vs SMPX + NFT + zkEVM
On Nostr/X you’ve repeatedly said “we’re not doing shitcoins” and answered “No” to “are you adding shitcoins to SimpleX.”
At the same time:
– Your own docs say Community Vouchers are implemented as a utility token on an EVM/zkEVM chain (SMPX, ERC-20 compatible).
– You’re issuing a non-transferable NFT on Ethereum mainnet as an access pass to the testnet.
– The token underlies names, server registry, payments and revenue sharing.
From a Bitcoin/sovereignty POV, this is an altcoin/token stack, regardless of pre-mine / speculation / fundraising.
Q1. Why not just say plainly: “Yes, we’re building an EVM-based token layer for network economics, but we’re trying to keep it non-speculative”? Right now it feels like a semantic dodge.
(2) “Not tradable” in the banner vs “maybe transferable” in the FAQ
Public copy and Nostr replies say:
– “Community Vouchers are not tradable, cannot be sold, expire in 6–12 months; no pre-mine; no public sale.”
But your own FAQ also says something like:
– Transfer may be possible with strict limits on number of transfers and holding time, enforced by smart contracts; details TBD.
So at the spec level:

– Self-hosted SimpleX for 1:1 / small groups is still interesting as a tool.

What I am asking for:

Nice, I get what you mean, but I’m using ‘illegality’ differently. I don’t mean breaking rules inside a system, I mean Bitcoin not needing the system in the first place. Protocols (like Angor, Lightning, Cashu, etc.) can innovate ‘around’ Bitcoin, but Bitcoin itself doesn’t get built on or extended (I’m trying to be careful with words, because I think this is a critical discrepancy. Right, these protocols anchor to Bitcoin’s settlement finality, as far as I understand). Its strength is that it stays fixed, neutral, and outside any rule-set.
Bitcoin’s success isn’t rule-breaking, Rather it’s in being entirely ungoverned and unchangeable. Everything else adapts to it, not the other way around.
