nostube uses nevent for readonly videos 21, 22 and naddr for editable kind 34235/34236. I think it's necessary to have the author and relays encoded in the link, to be able to find the videos on custom relays.
I was more worried about the part before it .. /video/ or /v/ or ...? 😂

yes, but only after downloading all events. Only the single letter-tags are indexed by the relays. That's why you can do a query e.g. for t=sometag but not for video=something. One would need to download all events and then check client side.

Not sure if it's good to put the videos in the 36787 audio kind.
I definitely want music videos on nostube, but with the current format I can not easily filter audio events for video content.

It might also make sense du adapt the imeta tags. Maybe even for different audio formats (mp3 / flac) but especially for multiple urls (redundancy). It would also be good to add x tag for blossom sha265.
Have a look a NIP-32 for the L=ISO-639-1 spec to tag languages. That would allow filtering in a standard way.
Great to see we are moving forward on the audio front.

Yes I had seen your project … still have to check out your code. I have not fully included HLS in Nostube yet. Trying to figure out what is the best codec compatibility vs. space requirements and thinking of adding AES encryption to the blossom blobs. I have a DVM that runs a similar HLS conversion… but will have a look at your script.

Would require a special version of ffmpeg. It's probably not ideal because a 5-10x hardware accelerated h265 encoding would be good, for users not having to wait too long.
I have also learned that hardware accelerated decoding helps and that is a whole 'nother matrix of codecs vs chip combinations and compatibility issues.

Yes, sort of... I was mostly running yt-dlp myself but it's much easier to have someone else (tubearchivist, metube,...?) maintain and keep up with youtube's roadblocks.
Running tubearchivist for 2 years now. At first I though using ElasticSearch was overkill, but with a larger archive it makes sense.
Might make more sense to connect a DVM to it's REST API than to rebuild the download logic. Main issue is, that it's not fully headless and you need to maintain/update youtube cookies for downloads to work.

It would be possible to convert the peertube videos into nostr video events. They would only play from the centralized bitcointv.com server but would work, as long as that server lives.
Rehosting with blossom would require rebuilding the playlists and hashing all the videos.
I like the idea of web based P2P hosting but in practice all the videos I have every played on peertube came from a central server.
