Appreciate you putting me on Travis! npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Very well said, brother. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick This is a great point. Couldn't agree more. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick What a small, beautiful act of creating. Stuff like this makes life so much more full. You guys know how to live a great life! npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick As an American, I absolutely believe this. China has invested so much more in real industry, energy build out, etc. and they took their medicine with the housing market. They have exponentially more engineers and it's much more of a true meritocracy. In the US we've papered over all of our problems so that the elite can continue to extract more and more from the common man. We don't have "free market capitalism" we have fiat corporatism. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick This was true yesterday, it's true today and it will be true tomorrow https://blossom.primal.net/3d14900e327401ef6e665dd470c7218ac98cad4e7aff609cd46620794e17ad11.jpg npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick If you find yourself excusing genocide and pedophilia, you can be sure that you have absolutely no moral compass. #freepalestine #epstein npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick 100%. As an American I can attest to how deeply ingrained this way of thinking is in an overwhelming majority of the population here npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Confident it will help you see the problem we already see even more clearly. Plus the way the solutions are articulated are incredible npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick This account is quickly becoming nothing more than sharing quotes from Modern Chains lol. Can't recommend this enough to Bitcoiners or to any one who cherishes freedom. @nprofile…0w9j book is a game-changer. More from chapter 1: “Frederick Douglas, who endured actual chattel slavery, cautioned that if one man’s liberty is stolen, everyone’s freedom stands in peril” (14) “To understand the reality of modern bondage, we must first recognize that slavery’s essence lies not in its outward trappings, but in its universal form: the coerced extraction of productive energy. Whether achieved by physical force or through convoluted financial mechanisms, the moral wrong remains the same. Again, we are not equating every method of enslavement or minimizing past atrocities; rather, we set its matter aside to highlight its form. Slavery persists wherever a person’s energy, physically, intellectually, or financially, is coercively appropriated, destroying their human dignity, and used to enrich another” (15) “Modern slavery’s most pervasive weapon is the manipulation of the money supply. To be clear, not all price increases are immoral. Natural inflation can arise from extreme market disruptions: disasters, wars, or sudden changes in supply and demand. That is not our focus. The true menace is the deliberate expansion of the money supply: a grinding force of artificial inflation, engineered into our economic system by man’s hand. Consider that over the last forty-five years, the Federal Reserve has artificially expanded the overall money supply by a staggering 13,581%. This expansion, marketed as ‘stimulus,’ ‘growth,’ or ‘quantitative easing,’ diminished the purchasing power of every existing dollar” (23) “Every new conjured dollar dilutes purchasing power, effectively transferring wealth from the many to those few who create and receive the money first” (23) “Frederick Douglass famously observed the psychological divide that sustained slavery: the stratification between house slaves, those permitted relative comfort, and field slaves, those toiling under the lash. House slaves, enjoying proximity to power, better food, softer beds, and an occasional taste from the master’s table, saw themselves as separate from those working in the fields. This illusion of privilege bound them more tightly than chains ever could. It bred loyalty, not to justice or freedom, but to their masters and the system itself. Fearful of losing their fragile comforts, they resisted rebellion, preferring servitude with benefits over the uncertainty of true liberation” (25-26) https://blossom.primal.net/fb964b982502be330a9ffe37aa6541dde1aa6556ea652feab4e54f07c48a9612.jpg npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick More absolute BARS from @nprofile…uh5m book Modern Chains. Hands down the best bitcoin / monetary system book out there. The depth is incredible. He gets to the heart of the fact that our fiat system is a literal form of enslavement: "Although, today's outward trappings differ radically from chattel slavery, the same principle endures: same form different matter. What once bound human beings with iron shackles now ensnares them through currencies, contracts and credit systems. You are already ensnared in this system. Our acceptance of this monetary order arises less from any well-grounded argument and more from unreflective habit: a quiet assumption that 'this is how this must be.' In reality, nothing about it is inevitable. Modern financial strain is not a byproduct of fiscal mismanagement or political incompetence, but the consequence of moral deprivation: economic enslavement" (13) https://blossom.primal.net/c0d268fbb427834420a12153aace42d34d2a2ce07ef0868fbf40f454b515d7a4.jpg npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick "Silence in the face of evil, is evil itself. For almost a decade I didn’t vote (and still think voting is minimally impactful) and had almost no role as a citizen because I was so disgusted with it. Having kids and becoming a Bitcoiner made me a lot more serious and creative about being the best citizen I can be to at least try to create a better world. Part of being a good citizen is not being passive while we have pedophiles and treasonous plunders robbing up blind for a genocidal ethnostate. Always appreciate your perspective. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Beautiful! Hope you guys are back on the road and all is good now. What a great example of hospitality too. Such a good reminder of how many good people there are out there. And that sign is beautiful! Can already tell they are highly likely to be some real deal Christians npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Absolutely. Most of the time when I’m actively watching games now I instantly mute when it goes to commercials. Seeing all the brain-dead stuff, ads that are supposed to be funny that aren’t, fat people dancing around promoting some diabetes med for big pharma, etc. just throws me off. I’ve definitely become the “get off my lawn” guy lol npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Couldn’t agree more. Honestly I have no problem with price staying low to stack as much as possible. You will never see me getting excited about governments buying Bitcoin either. I want as many common people to stack as much possible before governments and powerful institutions start stacking. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick The local news came on after a football game I was watching and it was the first time in years I paid any attention to it. I couldn’t believe the amount of pure propaganda and fear mongering I heard in the first 15 minutes. The fact that a single person watches any of these local news channels is a testament to how dumb the average American has become lol. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick https://blossom.primal.net/921b4ff208f2f9bdfc22213f2bb511d0ee662c19a213ff07fbc6cc1575e54d78.jpg npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Saturdays are the absolute best npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick 🫡 npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Can’t wait. This makes perfect sense npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick 100%. Hard for many to imagine a post-nation state world because it’s what we were born into, but it is an absolute disaster. The random lines drawn all across the Middle East by Europeans post WWI are probably the best example of the chaos this has caused npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick My family is Irish and I grew up hating the Brits because of what they did to my family in previous generations. Do you know where I can buy this? npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Absolutely. No one better than articulating this that I’ve come across than Neal npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick I never recommend books before I finish reading them, but I have to make an exception for @nprofile…0w9j and his book Modern Chains. Only through the introduction (!!) and outside the Bible I think will be the most important book I’ve ever read to date. “Number go up” bitcoiners won’t be interested because they overlook the much more important moral and ethical foundations. However, the real ones will be thoroughly enriched through this book. I’ve never heard anyone make the moral and ethical case against our monetary system in clearer words that resonated in my bones. Couple short excerpts below from just the first 10 pages: “A person recognizes moral truth long before the mind untangles technical nuance” (!!) “Calling our system ‘broken’ surrenders moral clarity and obscures the deeper reality: the system functions precisely as designed, to dominate and extract human effort. The only things genuinely broken are the people it consumes and discards” “The ethics of money is not secondary: it takes precedence. Economics explains the ‘what,’ while morality defines the ‘why.’ Morality is primary: it takes precedence, comes first. Morality is the soil in which economic seeds are planted, and the quality of that soil determines the quality of the fruit” “We will avoid dense data sets and intricate financial models; instead, we will pull back the curtain on a fundamental issue; if a system forcibly extracts our productivity, then no amount of economic theory can redeem it” “Superficial analysis of economics alone cannot excavate the deeper moral foundation; for that we need a philosophical shovel” “Debasing the money debases human dignity; it stifles our freedom, and as this book will show, freedom is far more than a political ideal; it is the bedrock of our humanity” npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Let me drop $5k on an operation for my dog who is twelve years old and can’t control his bladder so that he can suffer for another 4 months to help me with my loneliness lol npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick You have to get a wallet setup btw! Dog “moms” and cat “dads” gotta be one of the most backwards things I’ve ever seen. Grew up with dogs and love (some) dogs. But putting kids and canines anywhere near a similar realm shows how much western culture needs to be totally rebuilt. Lol got it. The funny thing is you probably think I’m some thin skinned snowflake. I hate Zionism and understand the dilution of the white race. I’ve thought it about it a lot the last couple years as I’ve come to the realization of how true it is. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s very real. That said, I have no regrets about who I married or the fact that God blessed me with amazing boys through my wife. You’re gonna have to move on cuz your not gonna trigger me like you think you will npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick “A system of capitalism presumes sound money, not fiat money manipulated by a central bank. We lose credibility when we dig our heads in the sand npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick What a retarded title. I love Bitcoin, but gold has been money for 5,000 years and is being remonetized again. You act like there is only room for one asset and are incredible left-brained and make Bitcoin look like a joke when they see dumb comments like this. Here’s some perspective. Every generation going back thousands of years considered gold money, retarded fiat shapes minds for 2/3 generations don’t think it’s money, next hundred generations will all consider gold money. No wonder so many people write off Bitcoin when influential voices like this say stuff like this. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Totally agree npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick NOSTR CIRCULAR ECONOMY EXAMPLE #7692: My wife and I recently sold our house to cash out because of concerns about the housing market in the near-term (before they run the printers and inflate everything away again in the medium-term after the dip). These guys are phenomenal architects in their own right but because they are Bitcoiners they also don't think like fiat-shaped model home builders who are throwing up thick cardboard walls from 1 of 6 soulless model home options that they selected from. Just go to their site and look at his essays on his architecture and Bitcoin journey and tell me that you can find an architect that is more passionate about their work!! Their deliverables are beautiful and their process is so unique and human-focused. But more than highlighting the great work of HODL House, this is an example of the power of nostr in building free, circular economies. Let me walk you through what I mean. I found these guys once I got on nostr and was listening to an interview on the Bitcoin Business podcast with the guys @nprofile…4wzq, while getting paid by @nprofile…cgkr 1 sat for every 10 mins of listening. Bryan and I both happened to live in ATL so I found him on @nprofile…nzvk and we connected from there with him and his team. When it was time to pay the invoice I of course paid him directly in Bitcoin from my phone as I was cooling down after a run. Could not have been easier. No credit card fees, no inputting bank information or having to ask him the last four digits of his phone number so that I could send him a payment over Venmo (so invasive and retarded lol). No reporting anything to my bank. Just direct peer to peer exchange of value. These are the EXACT TYPE OF USE CASES WE NEED TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT. I've tried, with much less success than I expected, to sell people on Bitcoin over the years. This is probably a combination of me being way too overwhlemingly passionate about it and just poorly explaining what are some very hard concepts to grasp especially for technically low IQ people like myself. BUT PEOPLE DO NOT NEED TO UNDERSTAND BITCOIN TO SEE IT'S POWER. And there has never been a better place to demonstrate the power of Bitcoin than on nostr. For a majority of people, we need to shift so much more of our attention to nostr adoption and retention than we do on Bitcoin philosophy, at least as a starting point. Similar to @nprofile…uh5m I came to Bitcoin from a purely theological and philosophical perspective and it is the much better foundation to become a Bitcoin maxi (not interested in retarded debates about how we define that). But most people aren't interested in that. But now BECAUSE OF NOSTR we don't need to choose between either appealing to NGU or appealing to the ethical / philosophical side. We can instead just provide INSANELY powerful use cases for Bitcoin adoption as a medium of exchange. And once you do that, it's game over. Really thankful to @nprofile…zx3h @nprofile…l2yj @nprofile…8m4j @nprofile…hs8c @nprofile…zj6n @nprofile…6dtc @nprofile…yza6 @nprofile…x8mg @nprofile…dzev @nprofile…uzxr and so many others that reinforced this into my brain over and over on podcasts. The first time I came to nostr I flamed out in about two days. It was only because you guys relentlessly pushed nostr on Bitcoin podcasts that I was already listening to that I came back with a totally different understanding. With that understanding I was able to put in enough effort to persevere through some of the difficulties to get to a place where I could see the power. Now, because I definitely can't contribute as a developer, I want to contribute to nostr adoption and retention in any way I can. To somehow channel the lessons learned to get plebs foot in the door here. Even in the last month I've seen more traction with family and friends on nostr as I've clumsily fumbled through explaining it, than I saw in the last three years of excellent, reasonable arguments about Bitcoin lol. So please feel free to add any ideas for how best to do that in the comments. A substack or something? I don't know. Trying to crowdsource for the nostr revolution tho so please help out with any ideas that might spark something for me! SIDENOTE: So tired of how much I see petty spats between gold bugs / NGU Bitcoin maxis when we really need to focus way more on broadening the SOUND MONEY umbrella. I got into Bitcoin primarily because I hate the government and the fiat system that supports it. I hate the wars and I hate the overwhelming brokenness that we're inheriting that has caused so many of my friends to kill themselves or overdose. I care WAY MORE about destroying fiat than I do about whatever dollar value is tied to BTC or about some philosophical allegiance I'm supposed to have about what percentage of Bitcoin I need to hold to be considered a maxi. I love Bitcoin. I believe BTC will become the largest asset in the world by a long shot, long-term. It has properties that gold cannot match. But that doesn't mean that there is no place for precious metals or that precious metals and especially precious metals derivatives won't outperform in the short run. It also doesn't mean that there aren't productive businesses in which we part with our Bitcoin as an investment in that business (should go without saying). That said, I think the best businesses to invest in the next couple years will be gold and silver miners. Nothing to sell and I don't gain anything by anyone investing in these companies as I'm just a normal shareholder. But I WANT ALL THE HOMIES TO GET RICH. And I especially want people who love freedom to take advantage of asymmetric opportunities so that we can then take those returns and funnel them back into Bitcoin and the nostr ecosystem. Same with all my fam. I literally bought some of my extended family members shares in these companies, told them about it and said I'm not giving this to you for 18 months, but watch what this does in the meantime. I'm investing a majority of the excess cash from the sale of our home for the next year in companies like Americas Gold & Silver ($USAS), Santacruz Silver Mining ($SCZMF) and 1911 Gold ($AUMBF). Do your own research and do your own math. I'm a business owner, so I watch margins closely. Watch these Q3 earnings and look at the macro picture of where gold and silver are going and use common sense on what that means for these mining stocks that are being valued as if gold is going to collapse back to $2000 and silver to $25. To anyone who understands elementary school level business basics - think about a company like Americas Gold and Silver. Their market cap is $1.2B but they are a currently operating mines in Idaho and Mexico with great existing infrastructure sitting on 226 MILLION OUNCES OF SILVER. They announced this week that as a zero-cost by product of their mining operations they are the ONLY ANTIMONY (ESSENTIAL CRITICAL MINERAL) PRODUCER IN THE US. They also produce copper as a byproduct and other very valuable metals. But most importantly listen to the first couple minutes of the CEO who himself is a former miner as a case study of WHAT A LEADER OF A COMPANY SHOULD LOOK LIKE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzSpaHSEv0c&t=947s) Opportunity to make generational money the next couple years. Take advantage and recycle it all back in here. Thank you for attending my manic TED Talk / borderling manifesto lol. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick I love Eastern Orthodoxy though I myself am not (yet). Disproportionately have the best posture towards the world of any group of people I've met. The more Orthodox writers I read and the more Orthodox people I meet, the more sure I feel that they are walking the path of truth as demonstrated by the fruit in their lives. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Music often captures the mood better than any other medium. Every word of this song resonates. The right v. left divide is much less important than the sovereign v. slave master divide. As @nprofile…0w9j has said, we need to not only emphasize the sovereign individual but the SOVEREIGN COLLECTIVE. There is real strength in numbers and networks. Nostr is a beautiful demonstration of this principle in action. Love this place. “We've got to get stronger Stronger as a people We've got to get smarter Smarter as a unit And watch out for our children Because they are our future Appreciate our women Because they bear our fruits, yeah-yeah My sister, my brother My sister, my brother…” BJ The Chicago Kid - “The People” https://youtu.be/mU-PiZ1UPZc?si=FDtiO3XHlPd1Scql npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Twitter sucks so bad lol. My whole feed is full of people losing their minds over some young dudes throwing around racial slurs in a private group chat. None of those people who are “disgusted” and outraged have said a single word about all the innocent men, women and children who are being starved and murdered in Gaza. No comment on the documented rape and torture of Palestinian hostages or any number of blatant atrocities Israel is committing. Bibi Mileikowsky (Satanyahu is fake name) said he was gonna give Elon the call and boy did Elon get in line fast. What’s funny is you realize how controlled the narrative is when you see almost zero pro-Israel content on decentralized apps like this. #twitter #freespeech #freepalestine #endzionism https://blossom.primal.net/80dbe0d65c1e93e38d0e071563ef09835170c0ab874962aa95f424a7e1d5c2c1.jpg npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Can’t tell you how much this resonated. I just wrapped up my Master’s of Theology and want to pursue a PhD down the road on something related to our money, Bitcoin, Nostr, etc. If you ever come through Atlanta let me know! Would love to connect npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick PHENOMENAL conversation fellas. Gonna buy the book now @npub18zs…lyv6 I too came to Bitcoin through theology / philosophy. Strongest foundation you can have for long-term adoption when it’s an ethical position and not NGU. Became Christian and learned all about non-violent stream within Christianity > Learned about military industrial complex > Role fiat played in that > Sound money / gold bug > Bitcoin adoption. https://fountain.fm/episode/GbE7Us559aG9FBNLAQFM #nevent1q…awud npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Long story, but had the most amazing conversation with a boomer last night. He’s a conservationist (in the healthy sense, not a purple haired environmentalist) who is helping to bring back mining to a beat up former logging and mining town called Libby, MT where I’ve got some family. For over an hour he talked about how much his generation had destroyed this country and how he wanted to make things right for his grandkids. He was the most alpha, masculine man, yet was almost in tears talking about how much hope he sees in young people who aren’t willing to repeat all these same mistakes that his generation made. I slam American boomers a lot because they have to be one of the most selfish, propagandized generations in the history of the world. Yet, it should go without saying that doesn’t mean every single one of them. I want to do a better job highlighting these exceptions because the connection we made was so energizing and filled me with so much hope. One general takeaway is that I love people who aren’t afraid to criticize their own tribe (and themselves). When I meet a boomer who can’t stand what boomers have done, or a Jew who hates Zionism, etc. those are people who I have THE MOST respect for. Life is so beautiful but I know Satan wants me to constantly focus on exclusively criticizing, tearing down, etc. There is a need for that when it comes to fighting the powers and authorities and not being indifferent to evil. However, there is even more of a need for that sharp resistance to be supported at a foundational level by a relentless and faithful hope for the future. #boomers #churchstr npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Beautiful npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Grew up completely non-religious in Seattle like everyone around me. Getting baptized into Christ and trying to faithfully walk with him was by far the most radical and rebellious thing I’ve ever done. So many friends walked away, but also quickly found out who the real ones were. No way I would’ve become a Bitcoiner if I wasn’t a Christian first. The best thing for the average American (not the elites), is a more multipolar world. Our government and its leaders have grown way too strong and they clearly believe that we serve them, not the other way around. I realize this comes with a lot of short-term pain, but pushing it off and letting US hegemony march on will only make the price we pay that much heavier down the road. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick All this resonates. First time I joined I got no traction and left, second time has been completely different. I know how powerful one positive interaction can have on here. Don’t know anything about your background, but welcome! Nostr is the best if you can stick with the initial difficulty in getting traction. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Yeah I’ve tried so unsuccessfully to orange pill people on bitcoin (had a couple family / friends I’ve won over). But realized that a lot of people are just not that interested in the philosophical stuff, they need just simple use cases to get their foot in the door. Once they experience a couple powerful uses cases then they really are open to exploring more of the foundational concepts. This is probably a testament to the fact that I’m low IQ and so are many of my family and friends 😂😂. But wanna do whatever I can to help those I love get free. Have won more people over to Bitcoin through nostr in two months, then I did in 3+ years of trying to talk to people directly about bitcoin. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Couldn’t agree more. NGU honestly piss me off and hurt long-term adoption. Nostr is so key to allowing people to see what something closer to a Bitcoin standard looks like. I made a handful of Lightning transactions before I came on here, but now I’m making hundreds of transactions a week. Mostly zaps, but I also pay for multiple monthly expenses (like VPN service) and have made a bunch of one off purchases. Makes me feel so confident in long-term future of Bitcoin seeing the circular economies start to form. Care less and less about the current price with each day that passes. Whatever focus I did have on NGU has completely shifted to Nostr evangelism and trying to get the whole squad on here. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Another big blow to USD reserve status and the power to manipulate that comes with it. Also always good to see banks getting crushed. Moving toward a more multipolar world where hard assets matter and currencies will be at least loosely backed by something. Any world where we move more towards sound money, more towards actual free markets, etc. is a much better world. It’s not the ideal Bitcoin standard, but it moves in that direction. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Both honored and terrified on multiple levels 🫡 😂 npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick 😂😂😂. Half our family is or was alcoholics npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick All Bitcoiners should be paying attention to what is happening in the silver market right now. It is literally history in the making. For decades banks have manipulated the silver market and they are on their very last leg throwing absolutely everything they can to keep the price down. Silver will break out and crush these manipulators and that is a massive victory for reality and a major L for the banks. #silver #backwardation npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Great post. Theology and philosophy were considered the king and queen of learning and building a solid foundation for a good life for thousands of years. How far we have fallen in our modern world. Thankfully, there is an amazing resurgence happening that is only beginning. Neglect of both of these subjects is highly tied to being shaped by fiat. With the slow death of the current rendition of fiat upon us, we will get back to the real. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick When I was a pleb, I often use to respect people in positions of power because they had power. Can honestly say that I now only respect those who use their power for good. Power for the sake of power means absolutely nothing to me. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Just looked him up and can’t wait to look into it more. Small world too. I have connections to main person who is behind creating College of St. Joseph the Worker in Steubenville, OH. Had a cousin that went to Franciscan too npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Totally agree. First month or so I would get discouraged, but I actually love the quietness on Nostr at times. Think people on here disproportionately have meaningful lives outside the internet, which is also a great sign. Some of my favorite follows go a week between posting. Also not having bots blow up all the comments is such a blessing, for now at least. npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Great input. Especially on the void. I think many of us who want to contribute to Nostr have never been “content creators.” Cracks me up when I think I dropped some KNOWLEDGE and it literally gets zero traction. The humbling is good 😂 npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick Love my Palestinian brothers and sisters. Some of the most courageous people on the planet. Especially loved that idea of the SOVEREIGN COLLECTIVE. Never heard this term but man did it hit. Realized as I listened that having kids AND becoming a Bitcoiner at the same time really shifted my perspective in profound ways. I went from largely wanting to help individuals in my circle flourish (still true) to truly wanting the entire world to flourish. I also had a lot of shifts to a more holistic eschatology at the same time, which was a major contributor as well. Sometimes a new term or concept can make feelings that are deeply held, but hard to articulate a lot more concise and concrete. That’s exactly what the term sovereign collective did for me. Love that this pod is hilarious and yet still able to dive into some of the deepest, most important topics in generative ways. That’s a great combination to set you up for living life the fullest. https://fountain.fm/episode/wDgIrYWzEreIHUA202Kl #nevent1q…wqc3 npub1ka7qhgven2xrj634n5yreje0ch7uyfaly2ppqzs4ac8g9zx5ppnsfj5z0s Mick This is EXACTLY right. We need to focus on helping people understand the idea of why Nostr is so powerful and give them concrete, tangible use cases they can understand.
