Has it really grown since? Sure there's more apps, more banks, but actual utility not so much.
Using people around me as a gauge, nobody even brings it up. May as well be 2006.
Honestly, when's the last time you've seen Bitcoin do anything besides grifting. All that money, you'd think they could at least throw festivals across the nation; forcing attendees and vendors to go through Bitcoin. Events driven by Bitcoin that are not "Bitcoin" events.

They can still interact with the blockchain, but the "currency" will have no inherent value. As new users will find more capital efficient chains for their projects.

There is only one person on this planet with your genetics, but society doesn't value scarcity.
