The NIP-84 spec says this:
"A comment tag may be added to create a quote highlight. This MUST be rendered like a quote repost with the highlight as the quoted note. This is to prevent the creation and multiple notes (highlight + kind 1) for a single highlight action, which looks bad in micro-blogging clients where these notes may appear in succession."
Based on this your highlight share would appear twice in client feeds that follow the spec?
Not saying one way is better than the other but would be great to have alignment between clients on the proper way to share highlights to feeds.

@nprofile…2ln2 does damus pre-load audio from links in notes that contain og:audio metadata?
It's great that damus renders a play button when these links are shared - but the pre-loading means we have to filter out any download stats for damus because we're not sure they represent real plays.

@nprofile…uvay we are seeing something weird where different people see different versions of Fountain the site - for example when I visit the site I see an old version 1.4.0 - but others see the latest version 1.4.4 - and others see multiple versions.
Any idea why this might be happening?

@nprofile…uveq quick update on this - version 1.4.2 is now live with the option to view shows in your library as a grid view - and tapping on a show in your library takes you straight to the filtered episode list - making it quicker to find saved episodes for one of your shows and filter based on download, starred, or custom filter tag.
We're still exploring moving the queue to a separate tab - it's a bigger change so requires more thought.
Anyway let me know what you think of this new shows layout and if you have any additional feedback.

Sorry yes this is a bug with the current version 1.4.1 where the active item position was not always passed into the boost payment request. Fix has been implemented and new version 1.4.2 should be live in the next 24 hours pending app store approvals.

Thank you for the detailed feedback - really appreciate it.
On Episode Sorting - although the default sort is "Latest episodes" - it's actually sorted by date added - so if you manually add an episode the is older it will go to the top. We're going to work on adding more sort options.
On premium signup not working - what device / os are you using?
On show page tile option - just to confirm do you mean viewing your list of shows as a grid of images without text?
On queue as main tab - we are exploring this - hopefully can share more soon.
On pod link as default link shares - if podlink expose the podcast guids somehow which I think they might - then we could do this and still have the shares display in our feeds.
Let me know if you think of anything else.

On the streaming sats amount per minute - you can set this to whatever you like from either the streaming indicator at the top of the player - or the payment settings page.

We don't support regular deposit / withdraw with NWC - but you can support podcasts and music and zap people with your NWC wallet.
Is there a particular reason you would want to deposit / withdraw to your NWC wallet balance but using the Fountain app?

Video podcasts should work the same way as audio podcasts - open standards where podcasters publish once for listeners to enjoy in any app they choose without drowning in ads.
The <podcast:alternateEnclosure> RSS tag keeps podcasting open with seamless switching between audio and video.

It should do yes - what version are you on?
One limitation with our current CarPlay architecture is that the mobile app needs to be open for it to load your library.
Very soon we will be working on a re-architecture of this part of the app to fix this - should be ready to test within ~4 weeks.

Are you on the latest version 1.3.10?
We've noticed over the last few weeks some podcast dynamic ad services have started adding large numbers of http redirects to episode audio urls (sometime's as many as 10...)
In 1.3.10 we increased the redirect limit which I believe should have resolved this issue.
Let me know if 1.3.10 resolves things for you.

If you've been using the app for a while this could be from an older version that used a different cache directory.
If you delete the app and re-install it should clear out - you won't lose your library but episodes will lose their downloaded status.

Sorry about this - AWS had an outage yesterday which caused an issue with some of our APIs - all the funds were sent and the boost is now listed on the episode page - https://fountain.fm/episode/1u8wjH1BYqfMJ7RVK0JP
Unfortunately it's not a nostr note though as we fallback to these internal boosts if the signer is not available.

This should be resolved on iOS in the current version 1.3.4 - if you go to settings > storage you can view and clear the cache data - let me know if that works?

There is a bug on Android where the library cache cleanup is not using the correct directory on some devices - we've fixed this for the next version 1.3.5 which should be live some time next week. I'll follow up when it's live!

@nprofile…8m4j yes 100% agree with everything you've said here - it's definitely on our roadmap and I'm hoping we can get this done in the next few months.
The one complication is that historically Podcasting 2.0 has used keysend - and not all NWC wallets support sending keysend payments - which adds complexity and confusion if people link an NWC wallet and then can't pay certain podcasts / artists.
Having said that now within Podcasting 2.0 we are almost done with the transition from keysend to lnurl - so I think we can move forward with it.
Hopefully I can share an update soon.

It's pretty simple - just a like button and signing a kind 17 with the podcast guid tags.
These likes do what you describe - follow you from app to app - and tied back to the rss feed via the guids.

I'm not 100% sure but I think this may have been because our previous implementation returned the correct json response but via a redirect.
I've updated things now - and it seems that on nostrudel it's now working.
