What if gold doubles to 10k or even something like 15k with the AI bubble inflows (so something like 20T to 30T USD) and then eventually it also pops because nobod has that gold also?
So either the numbers would be there or they would be so devalued that it would be like Weimar Germany.
In essence what I'm asking is what if we really are in Weimar Germany and we're really just trying to find what is money as a species and in real time?
I'm referring specifically to the wild gold rise. There's so much money and it moves so fast in the digital world.
What if we're heading for a moment where the cards have to be shown?

It's pretty wild to think about what's happening currently.
I mean the connection between Bitcoin, Lightning Network, Cashu and AI, Nostr, etc, basically open a world of functionality most people have no idea how important it is.
It seems pretty niche mostly because people are looking at/for vertical (fiat) scaling and not seeing the sovereign and decentralization vertical aspect.
This is basically tech that will make individuals more free, with more opportunities to collaborate, connect, work, etc, with the ability to live and trade anywhere.
It's just that people's attention is solely focusing on the fiat pyramid and nothing else.

This is all just macro. Nothing is related to the tech.
We're in a liquidity crisis. There's a lot of money but it's not liquid, their choices have been made and they're just holding now.
I predict the stocks will drawdown also about 20 to 30% in the next 6 months, and then printing in May onwards will accelerate the next business cycle, which is going to last 4 or 5 years.
We're basically in 2010 or something like that.

Was just thinking about it. I think these wild changes are due to the incredible trading speed we have today. Half of gold is just paper gold, very fast to trade.

I always thought Chomsky was just another statist, socialist, etc. I was wrong.
I haven't dug deep but he seems to be just your general left libertarian (left voluntaryist). Lately I've been getting into this philosophy. A left libertarian I would say is someone that believes in more ways to define capital, not just from the old powers but something that could be created by the people today. In other words, they seem to be more open to rebuilding power structures, and thus are more open to creating something out of nothing, for poor people, etc. More innovative, creative, etc.
Left libertarian = they are okay with old capital (private property, Bitcoin, etc) AND are open to new forms of capital (why don't we use new forms of money like co-created money (G1 currency), create new voluntaryist relations in this cooperative, structure, place, land, etc)
They are voluntaryists, so they don't want to take anything by force. Otherwise they wouldn't be voluntaryists.
This is fundamental. People often think that left libertarians want to take property. This is not correct. They want to persuade people with new models. If they wanted to use the state to take property they would be socialists, statists, not libertarians/voluntaryists. They want to create better alternatives, not take power from people. This is good.

I guess the theory is it would allow more people to feel more comfortable in downsizing and thus more houses in the market (but I know this is flawed, it only works if boomers actually build smaller houses). And the other side to it is also subsidizing first time owners, and this kind of stuff.
I'm just throwing it out there, not my area of expertise at all. So yeah sorry about that :D

Trump's greatest victory in this mandate might just be making real estate more available to people. This by lowering interest rates, providing more supply by reducing institutional demand, providing an easier path for that capital to flow into Bitcoin, etc.
If they solve that AND healthcare, the game changes dramatically in 2028 for the Republicans.

Makes complete sense. It seems like it's going to take some time, but it certainly is very exciting to see people move from real estate to Bitcoin!
My non Bitcoiner friends simply don't understand how Bitcoin is probably the greatest thing that could've happened to the non-asset holding class. Because it monetizes well... money, again :D
A lot of people can't really imagine the kind of future we're heading to. It will definitely look like the past in a way, real jobs will be highly paid again.
I was watching a video about a "poor" family in the 60s in the US talking about how they had it, etc, and the father was the only working one, 4 kids, the wife, in total 5 people living off a single salary.
Normal big American house (big!) and they were poor for the time!
For me it's pretty clear that part of society is heading this way. Bitcoin will not only monetize money but also it'll bring the family together again!
Which seems old school for some but it's pretty necessary I think

In this case, if you don't mind the question, what would good timing mean in this case? Is it for example house prices start to go down a bit more, or the lowering of interest rates, etc?
Or perhaps it's probably more related to a set of personal tax reasons that make holding real estate not as valuable anymore in this case. That's probably more the reason I assume.
The second part is indeed probably the biggest a lot of people hold real estate too, in a way.

Absolutely. And they'll understand by comparison. In 5 years when they look at the numbers, the amount of work they had to do, etc, when they see that BTC is 500k, has grown 30% yoy, can be used as collateral instantly and everywhere AND thus understand Bitcoin can be used to actually invest on other stuff like stocks, even real estate, etc.
They'll be like, why do I have an MP3 player, when I can have a smartphone connected to the internet that has access to all the music in the world and a bunch of other useful things?
Not to count that there's going to be serious tax backslash for real estate. Trump is already working on that. This is why Eric Trump is going all in on Bitcoin. Trump's family, a family that made fortunes on real estate, is actively demonetizing real estate. They know what's up.

Yes, the new global/local banks will be multi-collateral. Bitcoin, gold, etc.
Although Bitcoin wins in the long term because it'll be much more widely accepted.
It might work at the big capital level-production, but that doesn't mean it will work for everything or everyone.

It really just occurred to me that people will need another unit of account once the USD inflates too.
I know this is a basic argument/point among Bitcoiners but it really just occured to me how fundamental Bitcoin will be. It'll be the new unit of account. Nobody will ever use gold as a unit of account.

I think there basically be soft-fork with dual signature types the Quantum addresses and the regular addresses for a long time.
And slowly people will slowly give economic preference to the new Quantum addresses. And that's it. To the point that people on older addresses start losing economic opportunity.
Nobody is forced to do anything. There will be a new alternative/upgrade, people will choose it or not.
It's really not that of a big deal. And it'a all voluntaryist.

Yeah and for me the strategy looks pretty simple. Trump administration waits for full gold remonetization, revalues balance sheet, gets 1T in liquidity, buys 100 billion Bitcoin, further monetizing Bitcoin.
Why would the US want to monetize gold again, when BRICS are hoarding gold. It makes zero financial sense. The play would be to monetize Bitcoin and have Saylor go around the world to create the seeds of the new T-bill, Bitbond.
Apart from this there will be the AI bubble risk capital moving from AI to the next risk asset. They'll certainly not play gold.

Just an idea:
The AI bubble will burst and risk capital flow into Bitcoin, around Q3/Q4 2026. This is about 10T in capital (not all of it will move of course).
They'll learn about AI and Bitcoin throughout early 2026. They'll understand that there can't be a single winner with technology and finally need to understand scarcity and money.
Everybody will need to understand the best money. There is no alternative.
Sure, the Chinese will come up with gold backed money. But what's this for, which individual will hold this on the long term? Especially not US risk capital.

Exacto, essa é a batalha a que estamos realmente perante.
Mas por outro lado, o movimento na Argentina agora é fortíssimo, as pessoas estão a saltar o USDT e ir para BTC, há todo um movimento no mundo nesta direcção. A mudança pode ser bem mais rápida do que se pensa, pelo menos lá.
Porque repara o Estado está em desmonetização na Argentina, quem trabalha no privado, especialmente para mercados mais exteriores ou de riqueza mais definida como consumo, tecnologia, inovação, etc, está a beneficiar muito com o movimento.
Os impostos de empresas E especialmente o monotributo/recibos verdes do trabalhador independente da Argentina são excelentes para o trabalhador, em comparação a Portugal/Europa, claro. Na Argentina podes empreender sem capital basicamente. O que para mim é excelente/fundamental para a pessoa livre.
Para mim o grande problema da Argentina neste momento são os impostos de riqueza, são altos e para baixas riquezas (acima de 100k USD), isso devia desaparecer, e a insegurança em certos sítios. Se os impostos de riqueza desaparecerem e tornarem o BTC com impostos de capital zero, para mim a Argentina é o meu Plano B mais fundamental.
Porque com a monetização do Bitcoin nos próximos anos, o privado, Bitcoiner, trabalhador, na Argentina, só vai ganhar mais poder e não menos.

Precisamos de ser a Argentina (a Venezuela é um problema diferente) da Europa. Só sendo a Argentina da Europa é que se resolve o problema. Não há alternativa á realidade.
Quanto mais rápido ela chegar, mais depressa se pode reconstruir. Até lá isto sim é escravatura. A pobreza ou o default é a realidade, o que tens agora é uma escravatura do trabalhador.
O trabalhador, aquele que faz algo realmente útil para o mundo, que serve as pessoas com algo útil, essa pessoa nunca pode ser espezinhada como está a ser. Essa pessoa tem que ser premiada pelo trabalho. E a única forma é com dinheiro bom e duro, não com políticos.
A pobreza é o estado natural do ser humano, não há nada de mau nesse estado. O reset é o único caminho de verdade para Portugal.

That's exactly it. In Portugal (which I know you're in and me too :D) for example people have zero idea about what money is, how the Euro is the worse possible money for them, especially the non asset bearers (young people).
The older people don't understand that the Euro can end and thus that their economic advantage can end. They don't understand that their current relative power is due to artificial "scarce" German money, being able to own assets in pre-inflationary Euro (2008) and that if that ends we go back to 30% yoy inflationary Escudo like in the 1980s because Portugal is completely insolvent.
The young don't understand that the Euro has made them slaves to an unmeritocratic bureaucracy made in Brussels.
The only way forward for Portugal is Argentina. Then the people will actually open a book and read something.

The best move the US can make against the EU bureaucrats is to simply monetize Bitcoin.
That destroys the EU in 10 years, tops.
Bardella (Le Pen in France, etc) is going to ask the ECB to buy French bonds. If they say yes, Euro will further devalue, accelerating Bitcoinization, if they say no, it will push France for Bitcoinization while perhaps pursuing reform, a MAGA Doge like government basically.
The US accelerating Bitcoinization like their doing now is the greatest pressure the EU could ever have.
These people are finished. And then it's back to the real game of national economics. Portugal for example immediately goes into Argentina mode. :D

I think the EU won't last more than 10 years. And then we can actually build something meaningful again, in the periphery. Especially in countries that have the Euro and were not able to compete industrially, like Portugal.
The Euro turned Portugal into a holiday resort (for upper class people) where only a very specific "economy" works and it's highly unequal and unfair. Spain became a post-industrial quasi-socialist old people den. A country that was an industrial power house in the south.
We need to become Argentina in order to actually transition to a diversified economy.

One of the things I've been realizing recently is that Bitcoin's divisibility (in L2 networks like Lightning, etc) will make it incredibly useful for global financial systems.
I have to admit for a moment there I was a bit skeptical that there would be incentives for redistribution, i.e not hoarding. In other words, if Bitcoin is consistently growing in value in relation to fiat, what's the incentive for me to invest?
And then I realized it's all about scale. Investments with Bitcoin (L2) can become very very small, global, widespread and decentralized. And there's a lot of value in that, not counting of course of all the more cooperative tokenized models for services, memberships, that could be created.
Now, this will also require some legal change as we know, especially when it comes to securities law, etc. Which is already happening in the US.
Basically the US will syphon capital so quick that other countries will be forced to adapt, and that will force a global SEC like deregulation everywhere in the world. Which will further accelerate the tokenization of everything, and create more investment opportunities for everyone.
With tokenization we're basically gonna see S&P500 for millions and millions of companies basically. It's very exciting actually.

Have you guys ever thought about this?
In a Hyperbitcoinized the need for credit might become highly diminished or perhaps even obsolete. Redistribution—whether through a State-issued UBI or through equity investments from some kind of global private fund (like a tokenized S&P500 of every company in the world)—could take place in extremely small, frictionless units. Technically, it becomes completely feasible to live in a fully Bitcoinized economy precisely because Bitcoin is divisible down to infinitesimal scales.
Imagine for example an extremely small investment (microsats) in exchange for ownership shares of something, a project, company, etc, driven by some sort of AI system (to make it decision cheap and thus globally scalable). Why not? If it fails, it's irrelevant, if it wins, it's pretty cool, you make some money and contribute to something cool that you like, redistributing wealth and ownership by many millions of people.
It really changes one's perspective. In such a world you can actually get funded efficiently, and thus the idea of everybody hoarding simply doesn't become true. It'll definitely circulates, because why not, it's basically free for you (or someone) to do so.
In other words, a hyperbitcoinized world could realistically lead to the abolition of credit and thus it can realistically be possible. It is basically inflation turned upside down—a form of infinite deflation. Every decade, you could simply add a few more decimal places to Bitcoin’s divisibility. Something along those lines.
It's mind bogging to think about the Hyperbitcoinized world.

Outro pensamento neste sentido que acho pode ser interessante é a ideia de que num mundo Hiperbitcoinizado a desigualdade entre individuos/entidades/governos seria muito menor, e portanto as transações entre individuos na prática poderão de coisas como 1000 sats, e depois microsats, etc.
E portanto a necessidade de crédito fica muito relativizada, ou mesmo inútil. Porque na verdade fica a poder ser possível uma redistribuição, seja em forma de UBI (do Estado) ou forma de investimento de equity (de uma qualquer espécie de fundo privado global, tipo um SP500 de todas as empresas do mundo por tokenização ou algo do género), etc, extremamente infíma e isso ser completamente possível técnicamente viver num mundo totalmente Bitcoinizado. Isto pela própria natureza infíma do Bitcoin.
É dizer, é totalmente possível na prática ter uma Hiperbitcoinização e portanto abolição do crédito. Ou seja, na prática é a inflação virada ao contrário, é uma deflação infinita. Em que a cada 10 anos, adiciona-se 3 novas casas decimais ao Bitcoin. Algo assim.

Sim mas é inevitável a Hiperbitcoinização, os governos que imprimam mais vão sofrer mais dos que imprimem menos.
É dizer, eu acho que a Hiperbitcoinização é totalmente inevitável, por mais que eles tentem controlar o Bitcoin.
Isto porque inevitavelmente o banco que imprima mais crédito/fiats do que pode porque tem mais Bitcoin vai morrer. Isto porque vai haver um downturn e isso vai-se notar.
É dizer por exemplo, imagina que o Saylor se encontrava realmente em apuros, porque afinal não tem tanta Bitcoin em relação ao share, ou algo deste género. Isso é o suícidio para a Microstrategy. E isto vai acontecer com bancos. Tal como aconteceu no Padrão Ouro. Os bancos produziam crédito baseado na reserva de ouro que tinham no Padrão Ouro, é o chamado era do private banking. Produziam literalmente notas de crédito com o logotipo daquele banco, e as pessoas aceitavam porque sabiam que podiam trocar isso por ouro.
Em downturns as pessoas corriam ao ouro físico, e os bancos que se tinham esticado no crédito morriam. Tanto que chegou ao cúmulo do JP Morgan ter que bancar todos estes bancos, porque era o único que era realmente conservador.
Agora imagina isto mas digitalmente e á velocidade da luz.
O ouro nunca funcionou como moeda por causa disto. O Bitcoin é uma história totalmente diferente como sabemos, e vocês sabem melhor que ninguém.
tldr: Por mais que os EUA façam o que façam, a hiperbitcoinização é inevitável, na minha opinião. Só não se sabe é quanto tempo leva.

Sem dúvida. O uso protege o Hold, totalmente de acordo. E o vosso projecto para mim é dos projectos mais interessantes no mundo, nesse sentido. Parabéns por isso já agora :)
Por outro lado e sendo abertamente optimista, creio que os EUA estão a dar passos gigantes na adopção. Assim que o Bitcoin se integrar mais com o sistema financeiro lá ("o uso protege o hold") creio que estes players secundários financeiros, como é a Europa, a América do Sul, etc, vão entrar no barco também.
É dizer, isto parece tudo o wild west agora, e parece que vai desabar tudo mas na verdade estamos a caminhar a passos largos para a Bitcoinização. Vocês em Rolante podiam era começar a trabalhar em Bitbonds como o munícipio. Isso poderia ser uma grande ideia para legitimizar o uso político também.
As Bitbonds, se montadas com algo como crédito mais barato para as pessoas começarem negócios, pode simplesmente ser algo bombástico políticamente para os que não estão capitalizados, sendo esse um grande problema na adopção de Bitcoin como sabemos (i.e não tenho dinheiro para investir em Bitcoin, o Bitcoin é inútil para mim).

Exacto, sem dúvida que não é necessário defender uma rede monetária inflacionária e arbitrária. Isso é simplesmente ilógico a todos os níveis, principalmente o económico.
Em relação á protecção do Bitcoin é um bom tema de conversa. Creio que é um efeito psicológico devido a estarmos em momento de adoção. É dizer, nem toda a gente está a investir com Bitcoin. Há uns poucos players mais capitalizados com Bitcoin (OGs), que investem mais com Bitcoin, mas a maioria está em modo de acumulação, aguardando a expansão da rede.
E nesse sentido, sim, será apenas uma questão de tempo até a Hiperbitcoinização e usarmos apenas Bitcoin. :)

This guy supports Bitcoin (not full force but he certainly gets it and is a mild supporter), and he's not exactly a war monger. Most of his projects are for connection, communication, infrastructure.
I think Elon is, among the whole elites, a force for good.
In other words, if you make the same analysis on everybody else, I think you'll find much more macabre operations and intentions going on.
But it's just what I think.

Stéphane Laborde Relative Theory of Money is brilliant stuff.
Basically it's scarce, private, created by algorithms, UBI like money. He wrote a white paper at https://en.trm.creationmonetaire.info/. Imagine a currency that is scarce and co-created, i.e every certified user gets 300 Junes (G1 currency, they call it Junes), a month. To get certified you are certified by other 5 people to prove your human (it's their WOT).
There's already an implementation at https://g1currency.org/, the G1 currency already has like 50k users, mostly in France, Spain, Portugal and south America.
This in conjunction with Bitcoin and Nostr is going to create a much freer and voluntaryist world for everyone.

In my view, real estate will be the real loser in the next 5 years (or more, maybe even 10 years).
S&P500, equities in general and Bitcoin will recover quickly because of their nature and liquidity channels, real estate will take much much longer.
Lots of smaller banks will collapse. They'll bailout only the bigger entities.
Equities and Bitcoin might recover in something like 6 months, much faster than 2008 because liquidity injections are much faster now (there was no QE invented in 08), the market already knows the drill and there's nowhere to go.
Equities, Bitcoin and gold are going to be the only global investment in the next 5 years (or more).
Smart real estate people are now in panic and trying to figure out a way to get into cash. Taxes are also not going to help them.
The world is going to change very fast.

I believe that, over time, most publicly traded companies in the S&P 500 (excluding the Mag7) will end up holding a significant share of their assets in Bitcoin. As a result, even small investments into the S&P 500 will indirectly channel capital into Bitcoin.
And that's how Mag7 gets demonetized. Not by having the masses change their investment strategies that but by having the S&P500 underdogs unite under a better currency.
This is how revolutions always work by the way. The underdog unite to overcome the status quo.
