Feb 5, 2026 @ 17:18 (!) Good afternoon family & friends❣️ "One and done" - as Pete and his hamster friends say on the radio - for me today. I was up most of the night after a late-evening nap (which I had thought would last all night!) of 3 hours. Then back to bed about 7 hours later waking up the first time, which meant, of course, that I slept much of the day. Go figure. I did a little housework when I got up, cleaning my areas around my side of the bedroom and my corner of the living room. Then I was able to settle down enough to do my blog updates/additions/changes. And that's been my day. We've had some beautiful snow today, a couple of inches at least, and expecting more overnight last time I checked. I'm pretty much ready to go back to bed but first I'll do some more little things around here and probably have a light supper. So I guess I will see you tomorrow, I hope your week is going well❣️🙌✝️🎶😆🥩🌿💐👴👵🐕‍🦺🦜

Feb 4, 2026 @ 18:14 Good evening family & friends❣️ I have a few things to do this evening before bed but I will be shutting down and taking my laptop into the bedroom first (Leelan is spending the night, and my chair folds out into his bed), not sure if I will be coming back online here before morning. I did sleep from mid-morning to mid-afternoon today, got up and did some meme hunting, got Wed. Wags up, and Pete and I spent some time talking...so it was a laid-back day. Maisie had some more tummy troubles this afternoon so I will make her some boiled rice and hamburger for her dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow, which she will have with her usual plain yogurt. She's not uncomfortable, but let's just say it's a good thing that Chuy has his papers down in the bathroom...anyway if it doesn't resolve by tomorrow (it's been a few hours so maybe it already is) of course I will call to find out if the vet can see her...but it probably will. (Anybody still reading here that might remember when she ate that ribbon? That's been a few years, eh?) OK, I'm going to go get her food going, clean the PoiBoiz and get them fed, then go back to the bedroom. Feb 4, 2026 @ 07:48 Good morning family & friends❣️ Up early today because Maisie has a bellyache...lots of rumbling and noise in there, lots of flatulence, and she's been wanting to go out every few minutes since 05:00. Finally about 20 minutes ago she settled down, I'm hopeful her last visit to the yard gave her some relief. Anyway, Pete is on his morning nets, I've done the prep for my meal later today, and my morning updates, am having my tea, and will get the PoiBoiz out when I'm sure Maisie is settled - we don't open doors when the Boiz are out flying around. EVER. For ANY reason. I have always made sure that we had double entrance/exits between the Boiz and the outside but I haven't yet been able to make that happen here so I am absolutely obsessive about the doors. And I did it again: found another hymnal that looks interesting and bought it. This one is a monster, and full of songs - so it claims - that aren't in common use which is why I bought it. As much as I love and play the traditional hymns (and have/use many traditional hymnals), I also enjoy learning new songs. Anyway, I'll let you know what I think when it arrives. Jan 30, 2026 @ 09:12 Good morning family & friends❣️ Wow, hard to believe that January is almost over already! Or, as Pete says, "Mosquito season is coming fast!" 😆 Sunny morning, temp was -7°F (-14°F wind chill) when I woke up a couple of hours ago. They're saying we'll be in the mid-teens today. Sun is bright, sky is bright blue, so it is pretty looking outside from our warm home. Pete has an appointment this afternoon but we sprung a radiator leak in the car, and HoWie just doesn't like to run in the winter. Pete said he will put some BarS (or whatever it's called) in it. I would love to sell this car, we had Suburbans before this one, and when we needed to replace our last Suburban there weren't any to be had anywhere that we could find. So we got this Escalade and neither of us have liked it as well as the Suburbans, for numerous reasons having nothing to do with the radiator leak which can happen in any car. BUT it has served us well and we're thankful for having it; just planning to go back to a Suburban when we replace this. Anyway my plans for today are about the same as most days, and will likely work out about the same as most days too! So I'm going to go get busy with whatever and will see you later - have a fantastic day❣️🙌✝️🎶😆🥩🌿💐👴👵🐕‍🦺🦜

Jan 29, 2026 @ 19:39 Good evening family & friends❣️ It's been a long but very productive day today! J&E were here, we haven't seen them since well before Christmas, so that was GREAT! And we had a blast, went to a little gift store/flower shop (it's that log-cabin-looking building down by the bowling alley, Casey) and it is WONDERFUL in there, all kinds of cool stuff, and they have vendors bringing in their wares as well...just a delightful little place! So I bought a few little succulents there, and then some more at Home Depot. Tomorrow I will get some photos up of my beautiful little babies! All of the Christmas decorations are packed away and back in the attic, so there's plenty of space to put them out. Anyway, I'm totally stoked about these plants and excited to find interesting vessels in which to replant them in the coming weeks! Part of the fun of flowers, I've found the last couple of springs, is planting a variety of plants in pots to make arrangements - and I think I do very well at it too. I've already begun the same with my new little babies, and have plans for some of the others when I get big enough pots. Or maybe terrarium or two! But I'm worn out now (surprise! 🙄) so am on my way to bed...and I will see you tomorrow. Good night❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

I recall when it happened thinking feeling crushed for his wife to lose both her husband and 2 of her children, as well as a family of their friends...so much loss...so much heartache...She has had an amazing musical ministry of her own, of course... Keith was definitely one of a kind.

Good evening family & friends❣️ FIRST and FOREMOST, today was Gift of the Ladybug Day...please read my post from Jan 28, 2022 about our very own Ladybug, Lyra, and learn about this day devoted to children with rare diseases! I did check the weather today and it looks like as soon as next week we'll be back into the 20s during the day and double digits ABOVE zero at night...and in mid-February we will even get back up to freezing if the weather guessers are correct! February 13 is a big day for me (and for Casey for that matter) and it would be really nice for us if our temps were in the 20s or above. But for tonight, being in my 🛏️ is what's on my mind hahaha! Jan 27, 2026 @ 15:40 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ It is a gray and cold day today, I got ready to go out but then we decided not to and have been working on my site since I got up instead. Plan to work on my Rejoice Hymns project for the rest of the day, or most of it. And that's about it. I did take some pictures while the PoiBoiz were out today, I don't think I've taken any in a while, and only decided to take them after Elliot had flown back to their cagetop play area. I would love a home church (which we did about 20 years ago) again actually...closest we got to the way things were in Jesus' day...

Jan 26, 2026 @ 2016 Good evening family & friends❣️ Made it through a very busy day! I was doing stuff from morning until now, and am still able to show up tonight - woohoo, it's been a good day, the my Father has sustained me! Really enjoyed my keyboard today, after recording and while I was transferring files I spent a little time seeing what songs I'll be working on next, and they're all good - of course I chose them. (For those new to this project, when I ordered 2 modern hymnals last summer I went through each one, just quickly sight-reading all the songs, then marked the hymns that I wanted to spend further time on and recording later; I share the recordings on my site here.) Starting in February, which is this-coming Sunday, I will be sharing some of my favorite traditional hymns on a new weekly post, Sunday Selections, also from my new books...anyway, Pete just gave the PoiBoiz their supper, so now I am free to go to bed when I finish here. Jan 26, 2026 @ 14:29 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ I'm working on today's Bible study/devo...there is so much to share about following Jesus, about which I posted yesterday, that I am continuing the theme as the Lord is leading. So I'm working on that right now. And I want to do more Music Monday with my keyboard and the songs I've been working on this week, which is another very time-consuming pursuit. My day will be full, so I'm eating right now also. I had bought a an 18.75 lb. pork roast (well, 2 of them actually) a while back. One is already used but yesterday I took the other out of the freezer, and this morning Pete cut it up into chunks, which I am cooking today. I've roasted about 1/3 of it so far today and am eating some of that; the rest I will boil up and shred to use in dog food. It was very inexpensive, as I recall...$1.47/lb or something. Anyway, I also have to make dog food again today. It will be a busy one! I will get the Bible study/devo up first and then move on, and I will be back tonight (if able, we already have seen how that goes!)...have a magnificent Monday❣️🙌✝️🎶😆🥩🌿💐👴👵🐕‍🦺🦜

Anyway is once again bitterly cold, but after watching Ryan Hall Y'all earlier we are not predicted to get the worst part of this massive (2300 miles wide!!!!) storm so I have nothing about which to complain! Pete went out and did some errands, I stayed home and spent hours trying to get this site update done in spite of 😖🧠 stuff...finally done - YAY! Victory!!! I won't be pushing it any further today though, so probably won't see you until tomorrow, the way it looks right now. So please, stay warm, and safe, if you are in the path of this storm! @nprofile…24r6 When my paternal grandmother died (at the age of 104) each of the grandchildren were asked to speak at her funeral. I talked about how worn her Bible was, literally in tatters from so many years of constant use, and compared it to love letters kept bound by a ribbon in a drawer to take out and read over and over and over again in an attempt to stay as close as possible to one's beloved until they were reunited. She loved her Lord so much that it wasn't a chore, or something for which she had to give up more enjoyable things to make time for, or to get through so she could move onto the things she REALLY wanted to do. It was her joy and her greatest blessing to spend time with the Father, and the most important part of her days, and her life.
Having grown up being influenced by her, the thought of "making time" for God, devising schedule hacks to fit in some Bible reading, means there's something in the [lack of] relationship with Him that needs attention, moreso than just fitting Him in somewhere.
(One other thing about my Nana: she had multiple offers to replace her Bible with one not held together with string and rubber bands, but she always refused. She knew her own book so well that, as her eyesight grew cloudy, she knew the outlines or shapes of the words on each page that she could remember and "read" every word in her heart. I have never known another follower of God like her since.)

(Tonight we'll be at -8°F, with a wind chill of nearly -20°F 🥶😬🧊!) I updated my health page earlier which explains why I haven't been here in over 24 hours, and why I won't be back until tomorrow, plus got Don's guest post up and my usual updates including what I have always called a "mini-devo" but in reality has become quite a Bible study for me and for those who read what I share. Pete is at an appointment with a new doctor just a couple of miles away; I will have my meal for today and then go back to bed for the remainder of the day and tonight. And that's it for me! Jan 21, 2026 @ 13:36 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ Nice and snowy out, we now have about 4" on the ground, with more to come in the next few days. J&E won't be coming due to weather, later today they're saying we'll get freezing drizzle between where we live and where they live, in addition to the snowy roads, so it was a good call on their part; they're probably 65-70 miles away. Anyway, I've been awake since 9:30ish, before I even got out of bed I was texting with Emma, then got a chance to talk to my sister and was on the phone until nearly noon. Been working on this site ever since, but Pete and I have to go to pick up a few things today; actually Pete could do it but I want to go since today is the warmest day we'll have for a while: it's 25°F with a wind chill of 15°F. In the next few days we'll have lots of single-digit and subzero weather, with the wind chills as low as -25°F. So this will be the day to get what we need in spite of the snowy roads. I plan to do Wed Wags later, after we get back and I will have to crash for a while to recover. So I'll see you probably this evening, enjoy your day, stay warm if it's cold where you are, and stay cool if it's hot where you are❣️🙌✝️🎶😆🥩🌿💐👴👵🐕‍🦺🦜

Jan 20, 2026 @ 20:00 (!) Good evening family & friends❣️ Still cold, wind chill is -0°F; now it's been a half-century since I've had a math class, but I don't recall that -0 was a thing at that time. Not sure when that changed...maybe one of the times they re-re-re-classified Pluto? (The planet, not the dog...) Anyway it is warm in here and that's what matters to me! Pete is on a local net in his ham shack, just fed the dogs so they are set for the night, and I will take care of my PoiBoiz shortly too. I slept most of the afternoon which wasn't a surprise. Made dog food (beef, pork, fish, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, green beans, blueberries, plus the usual flax meal and bone meal and parsley) for Maisie when I got up, it is cooling now and ready to go in the fridge when it's done. Oh the exciting life I lead hahaha! I will likely take the rest of the evening and watch TV or something, oh how I miss the days when I could read books!! I used to be an avid (x1000) reader for most of my life. I can read short amounts, especially if I can follow an audio book while reading the print version, without having to start over every few minutes after the words were misfiled (🧠🗄️) but it isn't the same as those delightful marathon book sessions! Reading was always so much more satisfactory than watching TV! Or is it just me...? OK, so I'm rambling, it's time to get going, and I will see you in the morning. Sleep well - good night❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

@nprofile…ryrt At one point my dog and I had to stay with relatives for a few days; they had a rabbit and it drove Maisie insane, she wouldn't eat or relax or even sit down. CBD was the answer, it is great stuff! Glad your family and Ajax are getting some relief!

Jan 19, 2026 @ 20:26 (!) Good evening family & friends❣️ I spent most of my day at my keyboard, working on my chosen songs, then recording the ones from the week that I finished up today. It is time-consuming but fun, so the time passes quickly. So quickly in fact that when it was a dogs' dinner time I realized that I had forgotten to make dog food today. Since Chuy is now on canned it wasn't a big deal, and I just cooked up a pound of ground turkey with 4 eggs and some mashed potatoes for Maisie; that will last her tonight and in the morning. Anyway, that is pretty much all I did, plus make a delicious meal for Pete & I this afternoon. Now I'm having my last cup of tea for the day; I made a dessert tea by mixing vanilla caramel and vanilla almond, and of course making it taste richer with my homemade collagen creamer. I guess that's it for today, so I'll see you in the morning. Sleep well, and good night❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

Just finished today's meal a little while ago, then I'll get the PoiBoiz settled for the night and go back to bed. I did sleep most of the day but I just do what I'm told 🧠 hahaha! I'm listening to some music from Wendy & Mary (anyone remember them from 40-some years ago? Anyone?) The CCM from the mid-70s through the 80s is the best! I played that stuff nearly 24/7, just feel like doing some revisiting I guess. Do you listen to streaming music? Leelan has us listen to things on Spotify so that's what we use, before that I usually used Live365. But for the most part I like Majesty Radio [https://www.moodyradio.org/stations/majesty-radio] and just about anything on Rejoice Radio [https://www.rejoice.org] but the Mountain Aire station more than the others. And, of course, for my SGM fix, I go to My Harbor Radio [https://myharborradio.com] which should go without saying, this blog is one of their daily sponsors (the first Tuesday of every month) and has been for several years. Anyway, enough of that, I should probably go get the birds put to bed and then myself, I hope your week is going well and I will see you in the morning unless the Lord has other plans.
