Somewhat, LLMs can build a lot fast and can debug / fix things fast too. but I'm still figuring out how to make them write "good" code. for example every time I use them on a new nostr app they always write long running nostr "requests" and wait for it finish loading, without understanding that loading events from nostr relays never finishes. so the apps feel really slow :/

Yeah, the relay connections haven't quite been the same since the V1 release. I've found that it loads more notes than before but it has a tendency to stop connecting to common relays.
I feel kind of bad that I haven't touched the app in the last few months, too many other stuff projects 😞

Id like to, been a fun thought experiment to figure out how I could add an AI assistant into noStrudel. it could be useful almost everywhere as long as I gave it enough context and tools
Only issue is paying for it. I'm definitively not paying for it and it would be easier if the user brought their own AI provider

The pleading nature of the article is amusing. Asking people to not run malware because they might have their valuable information stolen is a bit ironic considering what the big tech companies have been doing for years.
OpenClaw is just demonstrating things we have know for years and never wanted to talk about. More than help the infrastructure runs on trust me bro security

I cloned this locally for fun. setup the applesauce MCPin opencode. then told Claude to make a plan to rebuild the nostr extension using applesauce.
It read understood nostr, read lots of applesauce docs and examples. and produced a 100% accurate plan. Then it started coding and completely messaged everything up...

Most blossom servers I've seen so far are focused on being public. Haven had the only personal one I've seen.
I've had "personal blossom backup server" on my to-do list since I wrote the spec but haven't had the motivation to build it. The idea would be something like a personal FTP box that exposes a file system, downloads blobs from your public servers, and then serves all the blobs using their hash

Agreed, also they tend to more complicated than they need to be.
I'm assuming you like relay feeds more, or at least I think they are better. but I think they are missing the advertisement / discovery events that DVMs had. what do you think about a new event kind that is published by the relays "self" pubkey that can be pushed to other relays to allow clients to discover relay feeds?

Strange side effect of the way DVM feeds work is that the feed requests show up under the notes that are in the feed.
Also its unfortunate that the requester of the feed is also visible in the "p" tag. but what can you do this is nostr 🤷

I haven't setup my openclaw yet, but curious how much this is costing you in sats? I've tried paying for higher end models like codex on ppq and routstr and they ate through 15k in about 5 minutes... :(

There is not web UI (yet). its a remote MCP server so it has to be accessed by an AI agent or by running:

Ill figure out how to build a chat bot UI later :)

This started out as a learning project for myself trying to learn how MCP and RAG databases work. its turned out to be pretty useful. I've done a few tests with Claude and it seems to prevent almost all the issues I was having before like bad imports, methods that don't exist, re-writing things, etc. but I don't know how well it guides the agent to building things the "correct" or optimized way.
Anyways, please give it a try and tell me if it works. I'd like to keep optimizing this

So far, I'm very impressed with https://fresh.deno.dev/
I built a SSR react app with data that was fetched on the server side and a live client feed and didn't have to fight the compiler at all. It's concept of islands make it very easy to understand what code is run on the server and what code is run on the client.

Caching is handled when the app loads events. So the applesauce-loaders package has a much of "loader" methods that all accept a method to read from a cache. Then for saving too cache that can be handled by subscribing to the event store and saving new events to the cache

I think most clients that support uploading to blossom servers support setting your NIP-B7 server list (kind 10063) https://nips.nostr.com/B7

Pushed a small fix for Zues where the NWC service was defaulting to nip-44 instead of nip-04 encryption if it was not set

Nuked my follow list then found and fixed the bug in applesauce. luckily I was able to find an older version and restore from that.

I like this, its a lot more structured and thought out than my initial attempt to build authorization tokens for blossom.
I haven't thought through this completely yet, but I think this might be a good standard to move blossom to, and hopefully deprecate NIP-98.
Unfortunately that would mean a breaking change, and no longer using the kind 24242 which I liked :(

Trying to think of a good domain name for the Applesauce documentation, examples and other stuff to live under. Unfortunately, applesauce.dev is taken.
I'd like to set up a simple relay, maybe with some NIP-29 groups, and see if it's possible to build a community around applesauce development and apps that use it. But first I need a domain.

If you can make it compatible with a generic localForage or localStorage (setItem / getItem) API then I think that would be super flexible. maybe then we could also use the sessionStorage that never gets used in web apps :D

The single list of notifications tended to get very cluttered and half the time was showing stuff your not looking for. i.e. reactions or zaps when you checking to see if anyone replied to you.
I'd still like to add a unified notifications view back into the app, but I haven't had the time to think about what it would focus on or how it would work. also I've gotten used to the separate notification views :)

also @npub107j…ncxg, would it be possible to extract just the NIP-42 auth manager from grimoire and add it to applesauce?
I'm thinking something like `new AuthenticationManager(localStorage)` that would act as a signer that only signs NIP-42 events. then I would extend the `RelayPool` to take an `authSigner` that would automatically be prompted for authentication requests
Then as long as the authentication request queue was stored in an RxJS observable. any UI library could easily display it

Using https://grimoire.rocks/ to check notifications is awesome. client loads quickly (unlike noStrudel 😞) and only loads the events I want to see.
Also the way @npub107j…ncxg implemented NIP-42 auth means that I'm not annoyed by signing requests while I'm using the app

Signed into flotilla with a browser extension, it immediately bombarded me with NIP-42 auth requests so i figured Id let it sign stuff for 5 minutes....
Then the first thing it does it wipe my NIP-29 groups list... lesson learned.
Why are nostr apps still being built to automatically sign stuff?

Yeah... That's an annoyance, ideally, Blossom Servers would have an FTP-style file management interface and then you would just copy the links with the hash.

filenames are lost when servers go down and when the file is re-uploaded to another server there is no way to tell if its the original without knowing the original hash
