Preparation
Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed for 20-30 minutes. Sit or lie comfortably. Have paper and pen nearby if you wish to record insights afterward.

STEP 1: Establishing Communication with Your Unconscious
Begin by taking three deep breaths. With each exhale, allow yourself to turn your attention inward.
Say to yourself (internally or aloud):
"I am now going to establish conscious communication with the part of me that filters sensory information—the part that determines what sensory data reaches my conscious awareness and what remains filtered out."
Now, ask this part:
"Part of me that manages my sensory filtering, are you willing to communicate with me in consciousness?"
Wait and observe. Pay attention to any:
- Kinesthetic response (tingling, warmth, pressure, flushing, tension, relaxation anywhere in your body)
- Visual response (internal images, colors, light patterns, even with eyes closed)
- Auditory response (internal sounds, tones, words, changes in internal dialogue quality)
Whatever response you notice first—no matter how subtle—acknowledge it without judgment.
STEP 2: Establishing Clear Yes/No Signals
Once you've noticed a response, thank this part for communicating with you:
"Thank you for this response. To ensure I understand your communication clearly, I would like to establish an unambiguous signal system."
"If you are saying YES—that you are willing to communicate with me—please INTENSIFY or INCREASE the signal you just gave me (the sensation/image/sound)."
"If you are saying NO—that you are not willing to communicate—please DIMINISH or DECREASE that same signal."
Observe what happens. If the signal intensifies, you have established contact and a "yes" response.
Now establish the reverse signal:
"Thank you. Now, to establish a clear 'no' signal: please give me a 'no' response by diminishing this same sensation/image/sound."
Verify you can distinguish between the two signals. Practice by asking a few test questions where you know the answer:
- "Is my name [your name]?" (should get YES)
- "Am I currently standing on the moon?" (should get NO)
If signals are unclear, ask the part to choose a different signal system that's easier for you to detect.
STEP 3: Understanding the Positive Intention of Sensory Filtering
Now that you have clear communication, it's time to understand WHY this part filters sensory information.
Say to yourself:
"There is a part of me that filters sensory information, I recognize that you filter out certain sensory data—subtle signals, nonlocal information, dream awareness, intuitive impressions—for important reasons. You have a positive intention in protecting me this way."
"Would you be willing to let me know in consciousness what you are trying to do for me by filtering this information? What are you protecting me from or providing for me?"
Wait for the yes/no signal AND any information that may arise.
Common positive intentions might include:
- Preventing sensory overload
- Maintaining focus on immediate survival needs
- Protecting you from information you're not ready to process
- Maintaining consensus reality and social functioning
- Preserving mental stability and preventing confusion
Important: Whatever intention arises, acknowledge it with genuine appreciation:
"Thank you. I understand you have been protecting me by [intention]. This is valuable, thank you. Please continue protecting me."
STEP 4: Negotiate New Methods That Honor Both Conscious and Unconscious Needs
Now you'll work with your unconscious to find NEW ways to fulfill its protective intention while allowing more sensory information through.
Say to yourself:
"I appreciate your protection. What I'm requesting is that we find NEW ways for you to accomplish this same protective intention—ways that allow currently filtered sensory information (subtle perceptions, dream awareness, intuitive signals, nonlocal information) to reach my conscious awareness in a safe, controlled, and useful manner."
"I'm not asking you to stop protecting me. I'm asking you to protect me in smarter, more flexible ways that give me access to this information when it's safe and useful to do so."
Ask:
"Are you willing to work with my creative part to develop at least three new ways to accomplish your protective intention while allowing more sensory information into my conscious awareness?"
Wait for yes/no signal.
If NO: Ask "What specifically concerns you about allowing this information through?" Work with the concerns.
If YES: Proceed to the next step.
STEP 5: Generating Creative Alternatives
Address your creative part:
"Creative part of me, I'm asking you to work with the part that filters sensory information. Please generate multiple alternative methods—at least 10-20 possibilities—for how this filtering part can accomplish its protective intention while allowing currently filtered sensory data to reach my conscious awareness safely."
"These new methods might include: gradual exposure, providing information during dreams, using symbolic translation, allowing access during meditation, creating safety contexts, offering information with emotional buffering, or any other creative solution including ones I wouldn't be likely to come up with consciously."
"Creative part, please generate these alternatives freely without judging whether they'll work. The filtering part will choose which ones are most effective."
"When you have presented options to the filtering part, and when the filtering part has selected at least THREE new methods it finds acceptable—methods that are MORE effective than the current filtering at accomplishing its intention—please give me the YES signal."
Allow time for this unconscious negotiation. This may take 2-10 minutes. Remain receptive and patient.
Wait for the YES signal indicating three alternatives have been accepted.
If you get NO or no signal after 10 minutes, try this:
"Filtering part, please become an advisor to my creative part. Explain what specifically about the alternatives presented prevents them from being acceptable. Then work together to create solutions that satisfy both your protective intention and my conscious desire for access to this information and control it to use it consciously to help others and myself."
Wait again for YES signal indicating three acceptable alternatives.
STEP 6: Securing Commitment to New Behavior Pattern
Once you receive the YES signal:
"Thank you both. Filtering part, you now have at least three new methods for accomplishing your protective intention methods that are more effective than current level filtering and that allow useful sensory information to reach my conscious awareness."
"Will you take responsibility for implementing these three new methods in my daily experience, in my dream states, and in my meditative practice for the next six weeks, so we can test their effectiveness?"
Wait for YES signal.
"Will you specifically allow through: enhanced dream recall, phase out of body experiences, telepathy lucid dream control, intuitive/clairvoyant impressions, subtle sensory signals, and nonlocal information—in ways that are safe, useful, and do not overwhelm my conscious processing abilities?"
Wait for YES signal.
STEP 7: Ecological Check - Integration with Other Parts
This is the crucial protection step:
"I now want to check with all other parts of me. Is there ANY other part of me that has any objection to these new methods of sensory filtering? Any part that has concerns about allowing more subtle sensory information into conscious awareness and control?"
Scan your entire body-mind for ANY response—tension, relaxation, images, sounds, anything at all.
If you detect ANY response (even subtle):
- Thank that part for responding
- Ask it to increase the signal for YES (it has an objection) or decrease for NO (it has no objection)
- If YES (objection exists), return to Step 3 with this new part and discover its positive intention
- Generate alternatives that satisfy BOTH this part AND the original agreements
- Continue until ALL parts are integrated and have no objections
If you detect complete relaxation or no response:
- Thank all parts for their cooperation
- Ask: "If this means no objection, please give me a feeling of deep relaxation/peace. If there IS an objection, create some tension or signal somewhere in my body-mind."
- Verify you receive the relaxation/peace signal
STEP 8: Establishing Feedback Mechanism
Finally, create a feedback loop:
"All parts involved in this agreement: I acknowledge that these new methods are an experiment. If at any time the old current level of filtering returns, I will not consider this a failure. Instead, I will recognize it as a signal that the new methods need adjustment."
"If I find myself unable to recall dreams more than I currently do, unable to access intuitive information, unable to access telepathic communication or gain non local knowledge and I experiencing the current level filtering again, I will return to this process and work with you to create even better alternatives. OR you can work on it between yourselves during dreams, meditation or other low risk times and fine tune the process to keep us safe and healthy while allowing fulsome psychic awareness (clairvoyance, telepathy, astral travel, lucid dreaming, remote healing etc.)"

If you get overwhelmed after the process:
- Return to the script and ask the filtering part to dial back the intensity
- Request that information come through more gradually
- Thank your unconscious for responding and request more gentle integration

Big idea:
Set up a clear signal from the unconscious, ask it to generate or evaluate three options, then have it test forward each one and choose the one it prefers.
Step 1: Set up unconscious signals
Ask inwardly: “Unconscious, are you willing to communicate with me about this now?” and wait for some small, automatic response as “yes” (e.g., finger twitch, breath shift).
Then ask for a distinct “no” signal and confirm both by asking simple questions and observing the responses.
Step 2: Define the terrain
Briefly bring to mind the *kind* of situation or “terrain” you want help with (the context or pattern) without over-detailing or analytically naming the problem.
Ask: “Unconscious, is it OK to explore having more choices in this situation?” and wait for a yes/no signal.
Step 3: Ask for three options
Say internally: “Unconscious, please generate at least three new ways of responding here that respect the positive purpose of the old pattern.
Each time you sense a shift (image, feeling, idea), ask: “Is this a new useful option?” and wait for a yes signal; repeat until you have three.
Step 4: Terrain check / future test
Take option 1, imagine being in that terrain in the future and running that response automatically, then ask: “Unconscious, are you willing to use this option in real situations?” and wait for yes/no.
Repeat the same future pacing check for options 2 and 3, always letting the unconscious signal willingness or refusal.
Step 5: Let it choose and install
Ask: “Unconscious, of these three, which do you most prefer to use first?” and cycle attention through each option, noticing where you get the clearest yes.
When you get a clear preferred option, imagine a few future moments where it runs automatically and ask for a final “yes” to install it as the default response in that terrain.
