I've appreciated Contra (nprofile…xupq)'s encouragments that it's the less-known accounts that show more interaction. I still have a "feed", but with fewer accounts with tons of followers and more smaller ones.
Those with the most followers aren't going to be interacting with them all. They're good for getting news out, and a good starting point to see what's happening when you join. But going in the comments, finding ones you respect and want to hear from more often, you can build a good list and start to see who people are and what you uniquely have to offer.
