It's not just your own beliefs, it's everyone you interact with as well. Healthcare doesn't care, your landlord doesn't care, DMV doesn't care, your electric company doesn't care.
Sure you can fix many of these things if you find reasonably priced land in the woods, have some really high paying cash or bitcoin based work, don't live in a natural disaster or flood zone, have the tools/equipment to build everything yourself because you can't get/have insurance.
- Cash doctors are thousands of dollars/month (assuming you never need surgery or emergency care)
- Most US states require some type of personal liability insurance if driving a vehicle on the road
- You still owe property taxes, or again, they will come remove you from YOUR property
I know homesteaders that "opt out" but these are the real limitations. The only solution to them is have lots of extra money to pay your fines, pay your doctors cash, hope you and your family stay in very good health, and you have enough physical strength 24/7 to do the work necessary to raise your animals, maintain your crops, dig your wells, have local to trade with, tools to harvest materials to build your buildings and storage etc.
It all hinges on a strong man, an "traditional valued" housewife, and nearly perfect health for every person in the household for decades. OR lots of money.
