Last Notes npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Syncthing is pretty effing epically magical. I wish more stuff just worked that easily. most NOSTR stuff lately doesn't even seem to be that interoperable. More basic infra needs to be developed. Or, more infra needs to be simplified to the point that everything just effing works. I want TNP to be the base for entire interoperable operating systems. Imagine turning on any device, signing into your own relay with your signing device/key/nsec/whatever, and EVERYTHING you want is just there, as you like, with no friction other than the physical connection speed of the device from anywhere in the world. All your pictures, music, documents, lists, contacts, books, movies, media, feeds, models (in my case 3D models, not AI stuff) and tools (probably AI for a lot of you) immediately, simply available. As long as you can connect to the internet, everything you want, build, read, listen to, or create is simply there. No hardware dependencies (aside from your relay), operating systems, or any other unnecessary stuff in the way, displayed on an interface you can completely customize. I've yet to see anyone talk about that, at least to that extent. If someone has, that is good, but it isn't a notion that has spread enough to crack through all the vibecode slop of clients and apps and social BS. When the protocol is the only thing you need to get everything you want, simply, efficiently, and nearly frictionlessly, you won't need anything else. Mostly, I just want to never have to bother with signing up for or in to anything ever again. I really can't stand most "social" interaction, even on nostr, even if I really like some of my fellow nostriches. I want The NOSTR Protocol to expand in depth, not in shallow breadth. Replace operating systems with simple databases of preferences and locations served with unbreakable crytographic attestations in near-instantaneous massive interoperabilty. Anyway, that probably won't happen, and I can't make it happen since I don't have the capability to learn how to do that in my lifespan, but I can dream, and my dreams will be larger than most others because small dreams are boring and who the )(#*$(* wants to live like that? /rant over npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Simplex of you use it. You can try nostr DMs, though I very rarely hey notifications of those. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Gotcha. Filled out a form! npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Use better relays. I've seen ONE bot on the Forrest. Nothing else. Plus, no porn or a lot of the other grosser stuff you get on the public relays. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Amen to that! 🍻 npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Well, we have precedents of what works for that over very long periods of time: Racially/culturally cohesive groups without too many people concentrated in one area for too long. That's basically the only thing that works long term. At least for now. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave For some reason i can't see the original note, so I want to know what you are building! npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Rules have very little to do with government. There have to be when you have more than one person (and it helps for even one person) in the vicinity of each other. Part of the reason why "The West" seems completely a mess is because the Christian foundation that had built much of culture that was the common expectation of behavior (mostly for the better, IMO). Post-modernism and especially all the nutter Marxist post-modernists and their ilk have done a very good job of pulling down the walls of that great work. Those sets of rules were part of what kept tribes together for so long, until those were ripped apart by the pulls of centralizing governments that couldn't function with their black-hole cities sucking resources from conquest of "others." (I am not ignorant of tribal conflicts, so please don't think that I am painting idyllic rose-colored vistas of a nostalgic past.) npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave The thing about a "voluntarily funded governments" is that people who would willingly participate in that are self-selected to generally adhere to the general rules of said voluntary government. These kinds of things have been fairly fleshed out conceptually, and also we have some historical corollaries in various parts of the world at times. Sure, where there are humans, there is strife of some kind, but I really think that most people in the world wouldn't be the horrible Mad Maxians many fantasize about. Sure, with the current trial tensions being stoked, that is much more likely to happen, but . . . that is being artificially put on all of us. Without that, there would be so very little to make things lean towards the nastiest parts of the lobster bucket. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Fair enough. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave The only thing you are missing that the very premise of taxation (and government, IMO) is completely wrong. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Ooo. I haven't heard of floorp. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Vivaldi browser is pretty good. Seems to be less hardware hungry than Brave (my usual choice). Does anyone have any negatives that I should be aware of? #asknostr #browser #vivaldi npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Congrats! npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave It verked! npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Testing Stella's aitherboard client. https://media.tenor.com/wP4KiKYK0aUAAAAC/bill-hicks-mic-tap.gif 🔥 npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave That is a LOT! God bless you and keep you safe on all your travels, my dude. Maybe bring a dart gun if you need a stretch of quiet . . . 🤣 npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave You're welcome. Lemme know of you have any other questions. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave The 1995 NASB (New American Standard Bible) is about the most well-rounded and easiest to acquire translation. The newer ones have made some less than proper (IMO) decisions in a few parts that, while aren't what I consider critical, they are not what I would accept as being true to the sources. A much more technically correct translation, but one that's not as easy to acquire, is the Lexham English Bible. It is done in a manner that exceeds my high standards by people I typically trust for both textual literal-ness and correct contextual background. I have no use for most of the "easier to read" versions like the NIV (New International Version, which is outright confusing in parts), or the NLT (New Living Translation) which is exceedingly limp-wristed. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave You're welcome. If you want an English translation, I also have recommendations. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave IIRC, the Latin Vulgate, which he started to translate into German, much to the chagrin of the RCC... So, if you can read Latin, rock on. (Even if the Latin translations that I'm aware of are not particularly "good" IMO. And I say that as someone who took 3 years of Latin in HS and had to work super hard transliterating various passages.) npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave There is none that I'm aware of. I don't cuss, but I argue a lot about heavy topics and post memes that are not exactly good for polite company. You could try using a few relays that cut out most of the porn as a start, like the Forrest or christpilled. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave A. I don't want that much data following me around. B. Not everyone can do that. C. It makes too much sense. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave There's hardly any completely young child friendly content here. Even on mostly SFW relays, you will encounter discussions of topics that are too heavy or language that's not for little ears. I don't think this will ever change much, in general, since while it is possible to achieve this, the technical overhead is so immense and still so fallible that it hardly seems worth the effort. Basically, don't bring children who aren't mature enough to handle adult things on nostr, not to mention the internet. It's not and never will be a safe place. It cannot, nor should it, be. IMO. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave I certainly think that much of nostr AI vibecodding in just slop. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Yup. Complexity is the bane of all systems. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave As annoying as it is, I prefer it to having my email service know everything. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave This is hubris. "I'm too important to get caught, and if I do, the satanic pedo death cult has my back because one paid my dues." npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Yup. I'm focused on The Good, The True, and The Beautiful. I'll still laugh at enduring everything else. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave All in due time. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Yup. But the thing is... Every time I look at a system, it ends up being so bad by incompetence that it doesn't matter if it is evil. That's a real shame. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave I'm just in avoidance since it is beyond my ability to care about it at this point. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Well, it is. And it sure doesn't take much to get samples, since, as you know well enough it just takes a cell or two. Sure, it's a lot, but it isn't impossible. Also, you don't need EVERYONE'S DNA, just family samples would be enough to get trends that you can feed into big data models. Especially if they are looking for certain things. Older English translations that don't use sources corroborated by The Dead Sea scrolls are not, IMO, "good." B. My contention is not the negative connotation of theif or robber. All translations have a negative word there. C. I very much refuse to use The Talmud in any discussion since it is utterly, Contemptably disgusting and perverted beyond the pale. (Referring to the article you linked using the Talmud as the source of a supposition regarding what was taking place that brought Jesus to action.) D. From the article: Jeremiah 7:6, 9-11 . . . do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place . . . [9] Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Ba’al, and go after other gods that you have not known, [10] and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, `We are delivered!’ — only to go on doing all these abominations? [11] Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, says the LORD. Jesus was quoting this passage. Where is the sin of usury mentioned in that passage? Reading the sin of usury into that passage is a modern affliction. Please ask yourself "what is being robbed?" in the context of the original quote. There you will find your answers to the conundrum. Hint: in this case, it isn't about money. So, again: no. Just plainly no. If you want to exercise your imagination, then lets say that the money exchangers were being unlawful, and those selling doves to the poor were exploiting them. What then? Jesus could have chosen a bunch of other quotes to rebuke them as He drove them out. And yet, He didn't. So, again, we must ask ourselves why that is. And the answer (my friends, is blowing in the wind... Sorry... 🤣) revolves around the first part of the above quoted passage. What is being robbed? By whom? I put forward that this is one of the least understood passages in the NT that I've pondered. npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave That's gonna be a hard ask for most of the country east of the Mississippi... npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh The Beave Yup.
